I don’t know where that demonstration is located relative to the one where people are are equipped with shields and sticks and beating the shit out of each other in the streets. Throwing paint, smoke bombs and spraying pepper spray.

I’m guessing you wouldn’t want your kids participating in that one.

March and demonstrate, doesn’t bother me. In fact I encourage it. It’s a right that needs to be preserved regardless of whatever movement it is.

Adult children doing live action role play in the streets, dressed for “battle” and fucking shit up playing pretend is fucking pathetic. My comment was in reference to the video showing antifa losers playing braveheart with the proud boy losers.

And good beer. Don't forget the good beer. In fact the good beer might be just as important as the good BBQ. What's that? More important? Okay, I'll go for that as long as you're twisting my arm.

I ate the tail of one one time when I was about ten years old. My cousin kind of dared me to join him in eating one. He fished for crawdads in Tryon Creek, which wasn't a park in those days and they were the only easy thing to catch in that creek. We took an empty one pound coffee can which we filled with creek water. We started a fire on the side of the creek and got the coffee can water boiling. We threw our crawdads in and that was that. My cousin sucked the thorax but I drew the line at that. Haven't eaten one since and don't think I could at my ripe old age.

In my defense, hey I was ten years old and no idea what to do other than what my ten year old cousin instructed.

However, omit the crawdads and I'm happy to eat that boil. You could even add cold water lobster and I could choke it all down, forcing myself to eat the tail and claw meat of the lobster one after another after another after another . . .

Son of a bitch is too cheap to call up the National Guard himself because then he'd have to pay for it rather than governor Brown.

Okay, thats a total crap of double standards Lanny. How long has he been ripped for interfering in state issues with the feds?

I mean, is he supposed to interfere or not? Trump haters cant have it both ways.

He sent in federal Agents and got EVISCERATED for it. Now you are going to say its his issue?

That's actually not hypocritical, regardless of which party did it. A state doing something themselves versus having the federal government impose it against their will are two separate things. It's not hypocritical to do something yourself and decry someone else forcing it on you.

I think the hypocrisy are those upset Trump or the feds dont do more, while also upset when they attempt to do more.

I think Trump desperately wants to wield the feds like an authoritarian, but I also think its strange reading people very upset that he wants to wield the authority like that, while also upset he doesnt do it more often...

    Nailed it.

When it serves the narrative, Trump should do more. When it doesnt, he is a dictator.

Part of that depends on the what, right? The federal government providing PPE and ventilators isn't anyone's idea of authoritarianism. The federal government sending in troops against the wishes of the city and state is a lot of people's idea of authoritarianism. We expect the federal government to do some things and not others.

So what about when people wanted Trump to do something about the mask protestors?

Well, we weren't talking COVID, in this instance up above there was a comment upset at Trump not wanting to spend money to send in the national guard to Portland. When he did send law enforcement he was resoundingly asked to leave (which by the way hasn't seemed to make it better but maybe it has). So I think the point being made was now there are people upset that Trump won't send in law enforcement, that (and maybe this isn't the case) are also upset he sent in law enforcement.

Which people? I didn't see people demanding Trump do something about mask protestors, other than stop acting like masks were useless himself. If anyone demanded Trump stop mask protestors and also demanded he stay out of state affairs, sure, they were hypocritical.
