They sure do if you're born in Hawaii, trying to buy a first home and being priced out of the market....it's why native born Californians are buying Oregon up right now.....I wasn't referencing bank or mortgage practices but greed and profit margins.....the house I mentioned was bought and sold twice by real estate agencies and finally sold to a wealthy person at triple the price.....I stand by my statement about greed influencing the price of real estate and the housing catering to the wealthy market for quick, max profits....we need affordable housing in this country. Commodity prices have already skyrocketed....what used to be 35 dollars worth of lumber at Home Depot now costs twice that and lumber isn't imported in Oregon for fence boards

I’ve been trying to buy in my area for the last couple years. Houses are sold within a day or less sometimes, over asking price, by out of state buyers who don’t even bother to see it in person first. Craziness. I can’t compete.

Sheets of OSB are over $50, they were around $10 a few months back. My dad went to get an 8’ 1x10 piece of plywood the other day and walked out. They wanted almost $70.

I went to my Indian buffet spot today. Only one in there but waiter brought out a combo, said he would hook up more but it was plenty. Buffet is still closed.

He also complained about people not working

If you go to a buffet, but it's not served buffer-style, even if they're willing to bring more food.... is it a buffet? \

    Asking for a friend, FAMS!

I use to carry that but now my wife has cut me back to $300. Have many credit cards with huge limits but all have zero balances except for our Costco Chase card which now has $137 for our dinner last night, prime rib for the lady and grilled Chinook medium rare for the gentleman. A long island iced tea for the lady and a pomegranate mojito for the gentleman. Only side was a rather large spinach salad split between us and baked potato for the lady and fingerlings for the gentleman.
Oh, and half a dozen Fanny Bay oysters on the half shell. Whoever shucked those needs to go back to shucking school.
Great window seat with awesome views of Mt. Hood and Mt. St. Helens.

I worked with a guy at Boeing who did that with his friend's mother. Also that happened to LeBron James' teammate and mother when first at Cleveland. That's probably why he went to Miami. His teammate was probably gone from the team when he returned to Cleveland.

I saw a woman about five years older than me when I was 13. At first I shocked, then embarrassed and then as I thought about it, I grew a hard on. Not my fault couldn't help it, it sort of came natural. Hey, lay off you guys I was going thru puberty.
Hey there, you in the back, I hear you snickering.

you want a not a good sign?

    Check this out:

    https://www.cnn.com/2021/05/06/investing/steel-shortage-stocks-bubble/index.html

    Here is the key.

Everything being bought right now is super inflated. The same products bought a few years from now will be back down to standard costs. This will make everything purchased right now lose value and flip. Houses, cars, BBQ's everything.

A 20' length of some 6SQ half wall tubing used ot be 20.00 per foot. Now its almost 60.00 per foot. when a building going up required 300 lengths of this material, thats a HUGE inflated cost that contractor has to incur, thus the end buyer has to pay for. Then when Steel goes down, so will the value of the property or building.

I bet @kjironman1 has a bit of insight on this.

I know in my arena we have SERIOUS concerns about the inevitable bubble burst that will happen.

Demand is extremely high right now also making amterial scares, extending lead times which also increases costs. so not only is the steel more, but the wait for it is longer. Its actually pretty nuts right now.
