    Do you go BPA?

Do you go with biggest bang/bust potential?

Are you trying to find a rotation guy? Someone who can be a starter for a long time but has a low ceiling?

Personally, I think we have the low ceiling rotation guys with Camara, Walker, Murray, etc. This draft is such a crapshoot. I like the idea of going with the guy with the highest ceiling, regardless of how raw he is. I'd still probably lean towards drafting a guy like Ron Holland and hope that he can add shooting to his repertoire.

Either the best shooter or wing defender.

With pick 7 I want Cody. That being said my goal for this draft that has been much maligned is that we keep 7 and also get the first pick away from the Hawks ending up with Alex Sarr and Cody Williams. I don't think it's a pipe dream because I don't think Sarr/the first pick is out of reach for any team that is motivated to get him.

Why wing defender though? I totally get wanting a shooter, but we have Camara and Thybulle as very good wing defenders. They just can't shoot.

Word. Simply looking for the SFOTF that leans towards defense. Cody potentially.

Risacher would be perfect... I just have doubts he's there at 7.

He could drop if a couple 4/5's and guards are taken early.

He's likely the first forward taken. I would be shocked if Clingan, Sheppard and Topic all went ahead of him, and even if they did, someone would have to value 2 of Castle/Knecht/Holland/Buzelis over Risacher for him to drop to 7.

    I could see this scenario

    upload_2024-5-15_10-56-42.png

Hawks - take Sarr because he's pretty close to a consensus #1 pick
Wiz - hard to peg what they're going to do, but I could see them taking Dillingham or maybe they go Clingan. They need basically everything right now.
Rockets - I could see them taking Sheppard, but I think Clingan makes a lot of sense next to Sengun. They don't need forwards.
Spurs - I think they have to take Topic. They desperately need a point guard who can get Wemby the ball. Topic just makes so much sense for them.
Pistons - supposedly Buzelis' agent is also the brother of Arn Tellem, their VP. I was listening to a podcast where they were speculating this could be the kind of move they make. I'm not sure if Risacher makes sense for them, with Thompson.
Hornets - putting Sheppard next to Ball makes so much sense to me. He's a great shooter, he's a good defender. Ball/Sheppard/Miller.

But honestly who even knows... this draft is such a mixed bag.2

If Risacher is there at 5, do you try to move up and grab him?

There's too much goofing off on this squad. There's players that go hard for half a season, then take the Jody bag and quit. I say trade the loafers that don't want to be Blazers. If they play better on other teams, good for them. I'm just done with the unproffesionalism.

Build around Ayton, Scoot, Sharpe now, not later. Draft a combo guard at #7 to back up Scoot & Sharpe. Draft a backup PF/C at #14 to help Ayton in the paint. Repeat process in 2nd round, or find the best 3pt shooters available.

Cronin needs to wheel and deal. Chip away this summer, and again at the trade deadline. Double picks in 2029 is too far away. Blazers need 2 FRP's in the immediate following seasons. Otherwise this team might get stuck in rebuilding purgatory, which is far worse then mediocre purgatory. The last thing Blazers need is waiting 10 years for a Wemby to show up.

If Cronin takes @AmirIcon's free idea, we won't have to move up because we'll already have 5.

If Sheppard is there at 7, I'm taking him without hesitation. Don't overthink it.

This should be a Schmitz pick at 7. He is supposed to be the talent guru. Whatever player he deems BPA they should take. At 14 I think that should be more of a pick for the future. A big that needs 2-4 years to pay dividends unless they go Edey there, as he can contribute right away.

Will be funny if its another short PG but I'd still do it then trade Ant+Brogdon.

Shouldn't matter if it's a guard or not, trades are on the horizon.
