Before all the good other fired coaches are hired, like Budenholzer

Classy move by the Bucks given that his brother died during that playoff series...

I'd settle for replacing Scott Brooks for coach Budenholzer and if Chauncey doesn't work out next season you have a backup plan. They just finished paying Stotts his last two years salary, I don't think they want to pay Chauncey for his last two at this point

You can't fire Chauncey until after he wins a championship.

Goodbye Chauncey. There are like 3 championship winning coaches available right now.

Nothing against you Billups, but this is about winning.

Chauncey is going to get a chance to coach a roster that Joe puts together this off-season that makes sense around Dame. We'll see how all of that goes. I'm not convinced that Chauncey can coach but I'm also not convinced that he can't. I do think it would be really smart to get one of these guys as an associate head coach if that's possible. It will let Chauncey know that he has to get wins and will also help him to get those wins. Even if it's just for one season with one of these coaches, I think that would help Chauncey and if Chauncey can't get it done then you give the job to that associate head coach.

Chauncey isn't going anywhere for now. Im guessing if its apparent that the team does a nose dive first half, or earlier next year, he would be replaced probably by Brooks, until the following year.

We should definitely fire him if we can hire Budenholzer.

I believe it would mean paying him still for last 3 years of his contract and budenholzer. I'm i'm not mistaken we've been paying chauncey and stotts these past couple of years

If the team wants to win a title……I couldnt keep a straight face……then right now, Chauncey is not the best coach for this team

So technically we could fire him now, then

I would try to kick Billups upstairs. Make Cronin president of badketball operations and Billups GM.

I don't think thats a reason to not fire someone. Is it better to have him work the entire summer then fire him in October? He still gets paid a boatload, its not like Bud has to go down to a restaurant and flip burgers to pay rent.

Bud brother dieing is bigger than baskeball or his job or anything.

Players like Jerami Grant really like Billups and rumors are some other players like Jaylen Brown like him too. I never heard of any player wanting to force their way to Atlanta or Milwaukee to play for Bud.

No sense in firing Billups when the team is nowhere near contending. He has developed young guys like Sharpe well. If some good starters force their way to the Blazers as Grant did and want to play with Billups then we should give them at least a season to do it.

Plus Jody is cheap, and likely doesn't want to pay two coaches. I'd rather they put any extra money to improving the roster first. Why pay two head coaches for the same season when the roster can't contend?

How do you know Jody is cheap. Why waste money on the luxury tax, especially repeater tax, when you don't have the right parts yet. She signed Dame, Ant, Nurk to very nice money deals. That's not being cheap. If Joe can acquire the right pieces, i'd be shocked if she wouldn't allow the team to exceed the tax line. She's investing in the team and arena. That's not cheap. This ain't the movie, Major League.

Solid points about players liking Billups. Might have to keep him while building our talent level.
