Crazy part is he actually has a fairly experienced assistant in Brooks. He still gets completely out coached.

You may not want a debate, but you're clearly wrong. There is no metric according to which Chauncey has shown himself a superior coach to Stotts.

"Experienced" is not the same as "good."

I picked the last option because "There's no point until we have the proper ownership and front office in place."

The weirdest thing to me is how coy the franchise has been about tanking since the All Star break

the worst coaching moment for Billups was back in late December. He allowed Justise Winslow to limp and fall and crawl all the way to half court. Chauncey refused to call timeout.

Why?? Because Ant had the ball and was about to make something happen. Billups was running his O and nothing, nothing, not even a clearly injured player was going to deter Chauncey from getting his guys a basket.

You’re kidding, yes? About the vastly superior thing? Because you have to be.

Disagree. I'd much prefer Stotts. But neither are capable of putting a team over the top.

Stotts record was pretty abysmal as well his first couple years.

Crazy to think Rasheed had his highest PPG and BPG averages under Stotts. What could've been with those two!

All we know is neither are capable of putting mediocre/slightly above average rosters over the top. It's not like these guys have had a decade worth of NBA championships rosters (like Doc Rivers).

Right. And they lose more games than they should with those rosters. I'm confident neither are good enough to coach any Portland team ever assembled to a championship.

Neither are as capable as Dr Jack, Adelman, or probably even Dunleavy.

We need a better coach to get where Dame wants to go.

How does one determine "they lose more games than they should"? We know many Stotts teams out-performed Vegas' expectations, which are going to have less bias than a fan.

Portland has probably had 5-6 rosters good enough to win a title. Two of the coaches, both of which I like, failed to win a championship while having a championship roster. In fact, Adelman and Dunleavy also had championship rosters with another organization as well, and failed to win a title with those teams either. And to be clear, I'm not crapping on those two, but at the same time, we actually have some proof that those guys couldn't win titles with championship rosters. That's more than we have with Billups or Stotts.

I didn't watch Ramsey coach, so it wouldn't be fair for me to speak on where he ranks.

We've lost a league leading 16 games after leading by double digits. That's on Billups, IMO.

I've watched all of them coach (Ramsey were obviously re-runs). Neither Stotts or Billups are as good as any of those 3. Stotts is closer, IMO. He adapted his system to the players he was given. And he actually did it fairly well. And I was not of fan of hiring Stotts originally.

Adelman was good enough to win championships. And very well could have if weren't part of one of the most controversial reffing series in NBA history.

And I honestly think Dunleavy out coached Adelman when his Lakers upset the Blazers. Dunleavy was also part of a very controversial game in which Shaq has admitted he let the air out of the ball prior to the comeback.

I don't have to tell you how much easier long range 3s are to make with an underinflated basketball (Brian Shaw). Or how much shorter the rebounds come off (benefit to Shaq).

Not to mention that Sabas was shutting Shaq down until he got into foul trouble.

The Blazers were definitely good enough and well enough coached to win the championship that season.

But winning a title takes luck as well.

When you're playing the Lakers in the playoffs you have to overcome a lot of bad luck.
