Let’s say we are somehow able to go out and get another star. Does anyone really want Chauncey coaching a contender?

In order for Dame to have the BEST chance at winning, we need a better, more experienced coach. Will it make us contenders? Who knows. But it can’t hurt

Not until he's had a complete roster to compete with.

Celtics were good with Udoka, good with Mazulla, same core players. Point to ponder

It's more about the players ( health, talent level, youth) than Chauncey right now. Chauncey is growing , just as some of the young players . I like this staff.

Neil really gave us a final FU by giving Chauncey a 5 year deal.

This is not NeO's fault this is not even all on Billups either cause he was given a team of talent but not talent that worked good together BUT that does not let him off the hook. The 1st thing is this Jody is kind of running this team right up to the max but not willing to go over it. Maybe the new / modified CBA could mean greater chance Billups is fired but before the new CBA I gave him being fired at like under 10% now maybe it's higher like 25 % or so but I wonder if they might let go a couple of the assistants and bring in fresh blood / idea's before the fire Billups.

IF I was running things i would promote Billups to head of Basketball operations / GM cause I think he is a good basketball mind just not for coaching and then a rock solid Asst GM who has some experience , and then hire Vanterpool as the HC -- not a perfect solution but might be easier then firing Billups.

the national media has Chauncey's back... because he is one of them. NBA Legend, Sports analyst, got a gig as a Clippers bench coach, then Olshey signed him to a 5 year deal, possibly after Neil learned he might get canned.

So Chauncey loses when he’s supposed to win, and wins when we need losses. When this clown is back next season, someone tell him we’re out of playoff contention before the season

Chauncey is not supposed to be trying to lose. Joe will sit the guys he thinks he needs to in order to get the best position in the draft but Chauncey has to coach whoever he has to play the most effective ball possible. He has lost when he's supposed to win thought, you are right about that. However this roster was so fucking terribly constructed it's hard to know which games we were supposed to win that we didn't but I'm sure there are plenty.

    Same constructed as Olshey’s teams

Only with that last roster did Olshey ever cripple us with such a small team. Olshey put together better benches and even though he made the mistake every year after LaMarcus left to start two small, score first guards who were both bad defenders, he put more length around them in the starting lineup until that last season.

I know that Olshey lied pretty much at all times or maybe just never knew what the fuck he was talking about but he always said he'd built a contender. Joe has constantly said that the rosters that he's put together weren't good enough to win. He said that at his first trade deadline, he said that the roster was incomplete going into this season and he said he was unable to do what was needed at this last trade deadline. Like I said, I'm sure there were games that Chauncey should have been able to get wins in that he just didn't but it's hard for me to pinpoint them when our personnel has been so terribly put together.

Joe blurts out 15 different directions this team could go. He's guaranteed to get one of them right.
