I'm a track distance guy. If you haven't ran 8 miles before, then you have no business talking. I don't complain about running, but it's pretty difficult.
I think it's fairly reasonable for a runner to make that point. What you perceive as bitching is probably more of a response to your bitching. Most athletes complain about running as though they have some special reason that they can bi*ch while others cannot. If your coach tells you to run, then he is probably trying to help you get more athletic. You may not have signed up to run, but you did sign up to play a sport (where I imagine your game can be improved by running) and do what your coach tells you. Perhaps if you don't want them to "bi*ch," then you could try not bothering complaining about your fat ass running a mile or so.
