I have the same problem. My big boned grandfather gave me size 9 wide (nowhere else do I have large frame, just big feet). Sneakers are OK since I buy men's. They are wider and sneakers are pretty unisex. Dressy shoes are major headache. I went to Nordstrom, they really suck at least on women's size. After trying on 9 pairs of boots I found one that fits, but they had 4" heels, more heel than I wanted but got them anyway. I need shoes for my neice's Bat Mitzvah, can't wear knee high black boots with summer dress, my white sandals literally have holes in them. Nordstrom had nothing. I was referred to Payless, their "wide" shoes wouldn't go on my feet and all of them are plastic so they won't stretch. The young woman working there was on her cell phone the whole time and gave no help. Still don't have shoes. Was referred to several stores in Berkeley that may be possible if pricy - price not a huge consideration since I dress up so rarely, the shoes will last 10 years - if I ever find any. Lots of on line sources but I really want to try them on. This weekend is parade, then 4th of July, I have to bake the cake, so time is tight and I don't have the damn shoes!
I don't know... it sounds ok to me. Maybe a black hat to match the boots (if you aren't going to be standing in the sun, that is!). Of course, no one should ever take fashion advice from me. barfo
Well, only so many can fit in at once, although, like clowns in a VW, it's more than one would guess. barfo
I'm wearing a white dress. My summer outfit that I got for my cousin's wedding (4 years ago today!). Since there was no bride a white dress was acceptable. So while I'm the world's least fashion conscious person, I think black or brown are the only shoe colors that WON'T go. White or any other color is fine - if I can find them.
I'm a size 13 too. We should have a shoe exchange club. Check out oakstreetbootmakers.com. They have great oxfords that are wideish. There is a stockist in portland but forget the name {Poasted via palm pilot}
