The Lakers seem to me like one of the more likely landing spots Thibodeau, be it next season or after. Kobe and Thibs have a great repor; it's a big market team that seems to like making media splashes, which a hire of Thibodeau would be; Kupchak's win now free agency approach to team building seems to gibe well with Thibs; you have that whole Laker's big man tradition which works perfectly with Thib's defensive schemes; and you'd have a great Thibs/Doc frienemies cross town rivals thing. I wouldn't be shocked if that's part of the reason for making the move.
This is part of the reason I still have doubts about the veracity of the reports of the Rose/Butler static. I mean, Butler didn't even bother to meat with opposing teams. It wasn't a 12:02 signing like Davis', but it was close. I believe that there is some tension between Butler and Rose within the usual bounds of workplace frustrations, but not the open hostilities that we've seen implied, but never explicitly stated, in the media.
Yeah, I thought so too, but this is Kobe's last season, and Byron Scott was supposedly given a vote of confidence by the FO and by Jeannie Buss.
"Winning is the best deodorant." If the Bulls find a way to click and win next season, they'll find a way to work together to keep things going.
Win what? Based on the talent on the roster, this will certainly be a winning regular season team, unless it turns into a complete dumpster fire. But, many are on record saying regular season record doesn't matter. So only the playoffs will really be counted.
The only real fenceposts that matter are making the 1st round of the playoffs and saying "yes sir!" to GarPax.
