Both of them are stacked up and down at every position with talent. Like with Chicago, it's going to take Portland a couple of years to get things going, especially in the western conference, when you have an unbalenced team with guys all in the same age bracket, it takes patience.</div>Im not being a homer, because I really mean this, look at our depth chart.PG: Tj Ford/JoseSG: Anthony Parker/Carlos Delfino/Jason KaponoSF: Jorge Garbajosa/Jason Kapono/Jamario MoonPF: Chris Bosh/ Krish Humphries/Maceo bastonC: Andrea Bargnani/Rasho NesterovicThats pretty good depth man. Dont underrate these guys. And the fact that our weak positions, at Center, our prime player at that position, Bargnani is just going to get better.

By building a team for the future you at least want several defensive pieces, and while I think they will possibly make the playoffs next year under Bosh and Fords heavy offense, they will not win a playoff series until they get a backbone or repeat their 50+ win success of last season(which I believe is mostly due to a very injured east last year and an overall ''good run'')On the otherhand, Chicago and portland are complete teams and down the road will have several run-ins in the finals I believe.

Hold on there cowboy. Anthony Parker is a more than average defender. Anthony Parker is a lockdown defender buddy. Jorge Garbajosa was in the top 3 last year when it comes to defensive rookies.Chris Bosh has improved his defense every single year hes been in the nba. Hes shotblocking has gone down the last years by like .3 bpg, but every single year, hes personal foul average has gone down. Ontop of that, Bosh really really stepped up his defensive game in the playoffs. He totally shut down Mikki Moore in the first round as he averaged 7 and 7 a game, and he averaged nearly 2 bpg. Chris Bosh has gone great strides with his defensive game.
I'd say Portland and it's pretty obvious why. They should be competing for many years, but I expect them to win something with Oden, not like their teams from before.I don't know about the Bulls. I think they'll be on top of the East for the next 2-3 years, but they'll start getting in some money trouble when they have to resign their good young players and they'll still have an old Wallace getting overpaid.Seattle is a good one too. They have some young talent now, but it's the 5 first rounders they have over 2 years??? that will give them a good chance to compete in the future.

What are the raptors going to do against teams like cleveland, miami, detroit, chicago, boston, etc. when they cant shut out their star players in the playoffs?
We can't shut down star players? How about Vince Carter? We held him to 5-19 in the first game, 8-24 in the 2nd game, and 6-19 in the last game....

He couldn't get his jump shot to fall through either the Raptors series or the Cavs series. Carter was shooting 39% in the post-season. I think after some time, Carter just lost confidence in his jumper and it got into his head.
Blazers without a question. There whole team is young, and they just drafted Greg Oden, The Next coming...

In a defensive set, we are just as good as most teams in the league. When it comes to points allowed we allowed 98 per game, the 9th best team in the league gave up 96. So we are not exactly the top 10 in the NBA in defense, but we are not far from it eithier.

Also, the Raptors opponents average 46% shooting while the Wizards, who are one of the worst team at perimiter defense in the NBA, let up 47%. (Raptors let up 36% from 3 while Wizards let up 37%)Raptors have also struggled against conatining superstars, Arenas, for example, had no problem getting to the line against Toronto.
