I used to think that way, but now I'm thinking he's just not waiting around for someone else to try and make his team better. If I was doing as much heavy lifting as LeBron, I'd want the best for me too.
This is kinda my point of the original thread. Even though our schedule get's tougher... Are we that far off that we should think it will make an overall impact on our record.
To that I'd say no it won't. I think we're a 12-8 out of every 20 team, good for 49 wins (I think I predicted 50 wins in October). We don't have any GLARING holes in our defense like last year or the year before. Players with unique physical gifts like Greek Freak give us trouble (in this regard I guess Philly and Milwaukee will always give us the most trouble), but our ability to force the opponent into long two point shots (the Worst Shot In The Sport) is pretty elite, which means we don't need to get steals or blocks to benefit from our good defense.
The good news is unless we make it to the NBA finals, we only have to worry about MIL and PHI twice a year. And, if we're good enough to make it to the finals no team should scare us. BNM
I think once Aminu comes back to speed he starts at the 3 and we have a defensive front line of Aminu - Vonleh - Nurkic. Over Harkless, Aminu brings better D, better shooting, better rebounding better energy etc.... He is better across the board. We tend to forget on this forum that Aminu is actually a SF and always has been, but has been forced to play the 4 due to circumstance.
I’m thinking of it merely as which of the 2 is better more than I am wether he should be a bench player or starter if there were a better option on roster. Call it working with the tools we got instead of the ones we wish we had.
I was talking about Aminu. But yeah, Harkless too. Neither of them would have a prominent role on a good team.
I think Philadelphia and Milwaukee are going to be beasts in a couple of years, but they don't scare me right now because they're only relevant if the Blazers could get to the Finals...and we know that's not happening. In the West, the Warriors are scary good. The Rockets are right up there as long as they stay healthy, but given that the health of Chris Paul is what we're talking about...they don't scare me. I think the Spurs will get their shit together by the second half of the season and be pretty much unbeatable by anyone but the Warriors. Minnesota has the pieces to be scary in a couple of years, if they can grow up without blowing up. The main thing that scares me though is that the Blazers don't find a good enough wing player and supporting bench to become truly competitive during Dame's prime. That would be a shame.
Who scares me? Everybody, nobody, I dunno? The Blazers look pretty firmly planted in the mushy middle, so I guess that means any given night that can lose to anybody, and they're just good enough that if they go off on an elite team they can beat them too any given night.
