It would allow Nurk to be aggressive and not worry about being yanked the second he picks up his second foul. We've gone so log without a real low post scoring threat. Imagine the luxury of having two, so that we always have one on the floor. No more 2-on-5 offense! BNM
Maybe I'm overstating Portland's power right now. But with 3 picks everything I've read is Portland has a chance at a superstar not just a young player who could turn into a star/. I think with the 3 picks it opened up more options for Neil so he put the Okafor trade on hold. Neil/Portland are doing their homework, knowing Okafor will be in Portland if they can't get Butler/George/someone like that. I don't see Neil carrying 3 picks to the off season.
There is thing called experience as well. This washed up vet can give us more defense sitting on the bench, than we have on court at this point. But we probably don't need more defense, we need to trade Aminu for Okafor. And we never overpay. We keepin it tight. Good we've managed to sign reasonable contracts this season. We prefer to give that money to Meyers, cos he is not washed up - he's young prospect.
Yeah I can't see us drafting three players, but actual movement might not happen until draft night. I wouldn't be surprised if Olshey is attempting something "big" right now, but those moves are always tough. I do however see an opportunity to balance out the roster a little bit. More specifically I'm talking about breaking up Aminu/Harkless and Davis/Leonard. Those are realistic trades. I think a "big" move this week would be trading Crabbe.
Just doing a little digging Paul George is represented by Aaron Mintz, who also reps Crabbe and Meyers. Crabbe wants to start Mintz helps facilitate deal, George to Portland, Crabbe and three firsts to Indiana Crabbe gets to start George wins ring in Portland Boom
Maybe, but three players under the age of 25, locked up long term, two of them starting caliber, Meyers theoretically complimenting Turners game, plus three picks in a loaded class? I'd at least offer it and see what they say. Motivated agent too. Crabbe gets to start. Meyers pretty much goes home, and he seems like the type that would play better closer to his support. George teams up with Dame and CJ which I would argue is better than teaming up with IT and uh Marcus Smart? I know Boston could offer that nets pick, and someone like Bradley, but ainge is notorious for trying to lowball teams, so you never know what he's actually willing to give.
ainge would never lowball a team, its not like he missed out on a quality trade this season because he refused to add in a player who doesn't even get 20m a night with the Celtics.
Favors is kinda available, i don't watch too much Jazz basketball, but i think he makes sense playing with Nurkic.
Stotts could say.."Although we acquired new players we still need to finish strong in the fourth quarter and the last 25 games of the season"
The team trading an all NBA performer for Meyers Fucking Leonar_ says no. Ask yourself this question before trying anymor trades. Would you trade Dame and Nurkic for that package? If not, why would they?
If I knew Lillard wasn't going to sign an extension I'll take the three first rounders and the two young starters. Also as a rebuilding team, I'd rather take a chance on Meyers than take on an expiring contract like Ezeli. A 7 ft career 37% 3pt shooter will always have value, no matter how much you hate him. As for Jefferson, Indiana doesn't want him, that's just a filler. Not even comparable to Nurkic. Could be monta Ellis for all I care, they hate him even more.
I doubt they will say yes to that, but Indiana has more of a need to think about moving PG13 than Portland has for Dame - simply because he is only under contract until the end of next year and he has not committed to signing an extension. I suspect that Indiana is trying to acquire assets now to have him stay, sort of what Portland did with LA before he bolted.
One could also argue that George is better than Lillard... People saw the Boogie trade and they think anything is possible now, but Larry Bird is no Vlade Divac.
Why does Indiana want to trade Paul George? I've read that they want to get him some help for their playoff run, not get rid of him.
Because he only has next year left and he doesn't make them comfy that he'll resign. Just listen how he responds to questions about his commitment lately to the media
I don't know either, but I would think the best scenario next to Nurkic is someone who can stretch the floor. Is Favors that type of PF? Plus the Jazz hate the Blazers, they would really have to think they are getting a lot back in return for them to make that trade.
