I think the whole league knows Chauncey and Brogdon are tight. It will take an attractive offer to acquire him this year, anyway, imo. No fire sales.
It was a tweet or X or whatever on my MSN homepage...I don't subscribe to X so unless it shows in my algorithm, I wouldn't know.
This isn't the original tweet but it references the tweet. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/ot...tive-in-brogdon-trade-discussions/ar-BB1hcDlN
Wow! We really have media doing a lot of spin for us to inflate the value of both Malcolm and Jerami. There's always a chance that neither get's moved and I'll melt down or only one gets moved and I'll just be pissed. I personally think that Joe will move both for combos of picks, prospects and salary filler.
You might as well start getting pissed now and get it over with. I doubt Grant gets moved unless someone comes up with a really good package.
I love this time of the season where folks here want guys they complain about every game thread traded away and yet will be equally upset with Cronin that he didn't get more in return for them when they are traded.
Wow! If we have ball hogging Ant and Jerami here after the deadline, what the fuck will we be doing? What is the ultimate direction that leads us in? If we're just planning on shutting them down for the tank what's the point in keeping them?
Again. There is a min salary cap. You can’t have all rookies on rookie contracts. What’s the big deal? The young’s are getting reps. You want them playing 48 minutes? you need the meltdown thread bro
We can have bad contacts coming back that will only increase the return on the trades or just good old fashioned expirings.
Jerami had about 10 assists tonight and hit a clutch shot to send the game to OT...he's done nothing but help this team win games. Fair enough to want him traded but he's not a selfish player by any streetch
when they expire who do you pay? What is a bad contract worth? so you want to give these guys away for nothing? sure glad you aren’t the GM.
No he's not selfish. It's the way Chauncey is having or letting him and Ant iso so often that kills the development of our young guys. Any way you cut it Jerami and Malcolm are both ready to contribute to playoff wins right now and we're nowhere close to needing that. Wanting Ant gone is just something I want because his fit with Shaedon and Scoot seems bad but I don't understand any fan of this team wanting to keep Jerami or Malcolm. By the time this team actually needs help getting playoff wins again they'll be less effective at contributing to them. So from my point of view they're more valuable being traded for picks and/or prospects.
So we want to trade our vets to get draft picks so that in a couple of years we can use them to make a trade for someone to get us over the hump. Do you think that player will have a small contract? Possible but unlikely. You hold on to Grant until his replacement is ready. And his replacement is not yet on the team.
So hold onto an asset that has diminishing value instead of trading it for an asset that doesn't and then after that value has diminished trade that asset once it's replacement (that you didn't bother mentioning how we acquire) is ready? I don't think this is how you successfully conduct a youth rebuild. It's not the way the Thunder did it after they drafted KD. It's not the way that they did it just recently. Joe said a couple of years ago when he traded CJ that we want to be all the way in or all the way out. All the way in meaning that we have a chance to win it all or all the way out meaning that we get a shot at the best draft pick possible. I understand that's not the philosophy you're describing but I'm hoping it's the one he still ascribes to.
