Was that response meant for me? I'm honestly asking, because it didn't seem related to what I said. I didn't say anything about other topics, I explained why "pro-abortion" makes little sense as a tag. Almost no one is "pro-abortion."
Wanna know why they have no say? Because they vocal chords and mouth and tongue aren't developed yet. But you know who does? The person actively developing them. The mother.
Kinda, yeah I get what you’re saying about pro / anti abortion, that was probably not the right simplification of the subject, or semantically incorrect. Just the point overall is that almost anytime ‘pro-choice’, or ‘pro-life’ is used it is almost exclusively used on the abortion issue, so I am just pointing out that using the words in a literal sense outside of that specific issue is kind of a strawman argument used to try to catch someone in hypocrisy cause they said they were pro-choice or pro-life.
Haha, whats that line from arrested developement? “Im pro-life except when it comes to the death penalty, and then thats only to ensure more life!” I should look up the qoute. -Before someone says this is my view on the subjects, Im qouting a tv show not espousing a view.
I never said that. Although, I've seen amazing stories coming out of that. I think it's safe to say, though, that every single one of us on the S2 Trail Blazers message board are glad we were born.
Sorry, I know this is OT but I saw a huge fire in SF (on the news yesterday), and I saw a lady talking about she barely got out and she wasn't sure where her cat was (I couldn't tell, but I thought she called it Lucia), I immediately thought of you. I hope you're doing ok, and if that was you I hope your cat is ok.
I hope she found her cat. I do live in the other side of the Bay but had my own heart stopping moment early this morning. I had just finished my pre workout cup of tea, still dark out, when I heard an animal screech. Grabbed my biggest flashlight and ran outside in my indoor sneakers. Lucia was in the front yard looking unconcerned. No idea what animal got hurt.
Im not sure why I wanted to tell this story, but where I grew up in North Portland, we lived across the street from a drug dealer and had gangs around all the time. I had this cat that my parents let me get when I was 5, I loved that cat (he ended up living for 19 years!). We made him come in at nights cause at the time cats and other animals getting ran over and police chases through the street we were on was fairly normal. Anyways one night I thought he had come inside and I realized at about 10pm he hadnt come to bed yet, so I snuck outside in just my underwear and searched all over for him til I found him. My neighbors having seen me walking around looking for my cat went and got my parents. Who to this day give me a ton of crap about how I was so worried about my cat getting hurt I didnt stop to think about putting clothes on. I was 8 when this happened. I miss that cat.
I bet we got an anti-natalist or two in here somewhere. In case you haven't heard... "Antinatalism, or anti-natalism, is a philosophical position and social movement that assigns a negative value to birth. Antinatalists argue that people should abstain from procreation because it is morally bad."
Tiffany Haddish talked about this as a black woman who didn't want to bring a black child into the world and it brought her to tears on Melo's "What's in your glass podcast last Monday"...they had a good talk about that that I recommend for anyone looking to understand more about what black women experience growing up in the US...Melo is a deep, intelligent guy. He's making sure the conversations are being heard.
