    if you go by the Paul George and Gordan Hayward injuries as templates for the Nurkic recovery, then Nurkic would be fully back till 2020-2021. Portland is a win now team and they'll likely need Whiteside as a win-now asset thru the end of next season

    I'd much rather have Whiteside. Love plays shitty defense, is injured often, and has a half decade on his overpaid contract!

    With DameCJ we need complimentary role players who do something besides scoring.

    We don't need Kevin Love's offense. We have offense.

    We need defense, especially for the playoffs. Whiteside gives us more defense and rebounding than probably any player we had a shot at.

    Injuries were not that similar as it was reportedNurkic didn't have any ligament damage which typically leads to longer rehab and recovery.

    So we have 13 guys under contract (including Layman) but one of them is Nurkic who’s going to miss some time. Pretty sure we’ll go into the season with a full roster, so Olshey still has at least two players to sign. A guy like Daum is probably fighting for that final two way.
