How come Van Niesteroy isn't in anybody's top. I know he's thrity, but last year he scored 17 injured most of the season and the year before he scored 25. He is still amoung the best.
Rudd is a legend my fav player along with Augero, he is as good a striker as Berbatov is now I would have top say. + Tim Howard is overrated he used to be as good as Roy Carrol for goodness sake! I would put at least 35 goalies in front of him and if you want me to make a list I will!!!!
Go for it. There's no way there are 35 goalies better than him. Watch some of his performances for the USMNT and tell me anyone not named Buffon, Casillas, or Cech could do better.
Note: not in order just peoploe better than Howard 1.Buffon 2.Casillas 3.Cech 4.Van Der Sar 5.David James 6.Reina 7.Joe Hart 8.Friedel 9.Julio Cesar 10.Sebastian Frey 11.Doni 12.Joe Hart 13.Michael Rensing 14.Paul Robinson 15.Craig Gordon 16.Victor Valdes 17.Leo Franco 18.Shay Given 19.Timo Hildebrand 20.Volkan 21.Dida 22.Igor Akinfeev 23.Jerzy Dudek 24.Robert Green 25.Gomez (spurs current keeper) 26.Ricardo (portugese keeper) 27.Gregory Coupet 28.Mickael Landreau 29.Ustari 30.Helton (Porto) 31.Jussi Jääskeläinen 32. Maybe (Rustu) 33. and I am sure there are others!
Joe Hart, Brad Friedel, Shay Given, Jussi Jaaskelainen, Paul Robinson (LOL!) and Rob Green are definitely not as good as Tim Howard. Howard imo is in the top 5 Prem keepers. More people on your list might be worse than Howard, but I'm not familiar enough with them to say for certain. IMO you might just be a slightly bitter, perhaps narrow-minded United fan who only remembers his mistakes at OT, but fails to see the way he plays week-in-week-out for Everton.
It wasn't in order! and yes I think Robert Green is a better keeper as he plays brilliantly but his defense lacks almost everything. Howard is seen as a bad investment by united fans but like I said before at this stage in his career his is ranked 30-35 in the world in my books.
Except that he's significantly better than that. Perhaps he was that low when he was with United (though 30-35 is still much better than Roy Carroll). However, he was a 24 year old at the time. Keepers don't really hit their prime until they reach 28 or 30, so with a few exceptions, there aren't that many world class 24 year old keepers. Tim Howard is just reaching his prime now and he is clearly a top ten keeper in the world. In my opinion, Buffon and Casillas are the top two, with a bit of gap before Cech. There's another gap before Van Der Saar, then there's a group of fantastic keepers that round out the top ten. Tim Howard is in that group with Reina, Akinfeev, and others. There aren't ten in the Premiership that are better, there aren't 30 in the world that are better, and there aren't any (let alone four) Englishmen who are better. Also, you listed Joe Hart twice.
Boruc is better then Dudek for Poland and he likely doesn't even make my top 30. Scotland just doesn't produce good keepers, period. French keepers you didn't list that are better then Landreau - Hugo Lloris, Steve Mandanda, Yohann Pelé, Nicolas Penneteau and Remy Riou. The top rated young German keepers right now are René Adler and Manuel Neuer. You listed Joe Hart twice, in any case he isn't even in my top 50. He's a long way from being a great keeper. Shall I name my top 30 or .. perhaps 50 keepers? I'd like to know Agoo's opinion of who are the best keepers. Name at least 20.
Well okay it wasn't perfect (took me 5 min), but if you think of all the people I missed out then do you really this think Howard is better than 30-35th in the world?
Howard is better then a good number of goalkeepers on your list. Refer back to Chingy's post a page or two back.
