The assumption is he will use one or both of the TPEs. A pretty safe assumption given his recent comments. So let’s hear some predictions. Let’s see if anyone gets it right.
Kenneth Faried, Courtney Lee, Grant Hill, Jerryd Bayless, Marvin Williams, and every other player that @Gronk Brady hates
Does Marvin actually fit into the Crabbe TPE? I’m probably wrong but I believe the maximum value is $13,069,502, which is less than Marvin’s number.
Yes, you are correct on both. It's just someone that Gronk said he didn't want lately so I lumped him into the joke haha.
Courtney Lee is still the most obvious name. It was also interesting how Olshey talked about using the TPE to acquire veterans that can help them on the court. Didn’t really mention using it to acquire picks, but I’m sure there’s some loophole in his words.
My hope: One or more of Middleton, Tobias Harris, Otto Porter, or Blake Griffin. Who I think could actually be realistic: Jonathan Simmons, Dellavadova, Courtney Lee, PJ Tucker, Barnes, Ibaka.
Stop with Courtney Lee already! WTF is wrong with you... if you want to try to make Dame and CJ work, the TPE is your one shot... and you want to use it on a 33 year old journeyman to play backup SG?! Come on man! Do you ever want this team to succeed?!
Do you ever think your two cents isn’t needed? And Lee is literally the best player we’re gonna get with the TPE so stop crying.
I don’t think it’s that realistic but James Johnson is a guy I’d like to bring in, we need someone to have that Draymond type role and everyone in the NBA seems to know Johnson could whoop them up real quick.
Our starting 5 wasn’t really the problem. Our bench was awful. That’s where we lost most leads/games. We had to rely on our starting shooting guard to do all the scoring because no one else had a consistent ability to shoot or create their own shot. Adding someone like Lee (a career 39% outside shooter) would be a pretty significant upgrade. And it’d cost Portland nothing but money, something we shouldn’t worry about as fans considering we don’t project to have cap space anytime soon. His contract also runs out at the same time as Turner, Meyers, and Moe, so he wouldn’t affect the summer of 2020.
