But Lillard also attributed his ability to score against a taller defender like Gobert to the training that he and C.J. McCollum did in the offseason, when they each took turns in their workouts, attacking the basket which was guarded by a six-foot-nine coach the Blazers recently hired. Who this coach is remains a mystery as both Lillard and McCollum wouldn't give his name out. But Lillard believes practicing making shots at the rim against this coach, who used verticality to alter the Blazers guards' layups, is a big reason why he was so successful against Gobert in the season opener."
It's a kid from Central Catholic, which makes sense because CC alums are awesome (he's also a Blazers employee in the video department): http://www.csnnw.com/portland-trail...h-meet-former-central-catholic-standout-brian
Most teams have a big man coach that works with their bigs, but in today's NBA where offense is all about 3-pointers, layups and free throws, it really does make a lot of sense to have a big man working with the smalls. Dame has the quickness to blow by his man at will and C.J. has the handles to beat anyone off the dribble. So, the next logical step is to improve their ability to finish at the rim, where they are often greeted by an opposing big man/designated rim protector. Yeah, it was only one game, but we just saw how much more effective and efficient Dame and C.J. can be if they can improve their ability to finish at the rim and draw FTs. I continue to laugh at media pundits that claim Dame and C.J. have reached their ceiling and will begin to regress. Right. Try actually watching a game sometime. BNM
What picture and wtf are you guys talking about? Did they release pictures of his knee surgeries? I'm confused.
