<div class="quote_poster">Quoting allnet:</div><div class="quote_post">So averaging 4 more points means he is more of a candidate than Pierce is? even when they basically have the same record. While Pierce is averaging more rebounds, assists along with leading his team with less talent. You can make a case that Sixers have been struggling with injuries which they have. However I would take the Sixers role players over Boston's.</div>

AI can't do much about the talent, but he can about his individual stats. And please look at the stats before you spout out about PP. He is not averaging more assists than AI. Here's a short statistical comparison:

    AI vs. PP
    28.9 - 23.9 ppg
    3.8 - 7.6 rpg
    6.1 - 5.7 apg
    2.9 - 1.56 spg

I'd say that 5 points higher is quite enough to largely distinguish between two players. And having half as many rebounds has more to do with the half a foot height difference between them than with playing ability.

So yes, I'd say that AI has a better shot of winning than does Paul Pierce.

I was pretty sure Pierce averaged more assists but I guess I was mistaken.Iverson is the much better scorer. One of the best EVER.However with the Sixers current injuries Pierce may jump ahead of him because of improved records. More so with the way PP is lighting the league up right now.Getting that added scorer will only help his cause even more.

A Garnett-less team LAST SEASON would have EASILY been in lottery land. This year his stats are up (except steals/assists) ... when everyone questioned would his stats go down if he got some help.</div>
