Well a few things, people definitely know when they are on camera. Was watching a documentary on shaolin monks not long ago, and then watched a guy who trained in that temple talk about that same documentary and it was sort of eye opening.
I cant claim if it was scripted or not, it probably wasnt, but they dont come in their with camera crews and all that and do a docuseries of the boring parts for netflix. Im not trying to criticize the show (havent watched it), just saying I dont really ever believe these docs are “this is exactly how everything is”.

By the way, I wouldn't make fun of your family for being in the business. Making money off of people with poor taste in entertainment is the American way.

I wouldn't even make fun of the people that make Lifetime original movies unless I found out that they really thought they were making great shows.

Tyler Perry is a freaking millionaire and Greg Giraldo died nearly unknown.

    Such is life.

I've watched wrestling. I grew up watching Saturday Night Main Event past my bedtime. I even saw some wrestling when Goldberg first started because I had friends who liked it still. It was mildly entertaining...whatever.

Do yourself a favor and watch this show instead of listening to what some radio guy says.

I learned that lesson years ago with Everybody Loves Raymond. I wouldn't watch it because I HATED Ray Romano.

I finally caved in and loved that show.

Watch it. Then you'll understand. Parts of this are a documentary of a reality TV show and yes the reality TV was scripted. But these people were so fucking high and full of themselves they actually thought what was scripted made them look cool. That's why this is such a trainwreck and yet so fun to watch.

And then when they thought some of this might not be cool they burned down their reality TV studio. Except, they thought it was cool enough to hide what was filmed and only make it look like it was all burned up. Only to eventually forget they had hidden all the footage in a storage locker and forgot to pay the bill. So the locker went up for auction and the producers bought it.

Serious, you need to watch this.

Don't ruin it. Watch it or don't but don't ruin it.

My biggest problem with Brokeback Mountain?

People spolied the whole fucking movie before I got to see it.

So reading this thread it sounds like there's a lot of animal abuse? Doubt I can watch it then.

Not much shown, the worst were the lions getting sedated and the story of the chimpanzees spending years side by side in cages was heartbreaking but had a really happy ending.

My wife can't tolerate horses dying in war movies even knowing it is fake. She loved this show and yes some of it is sad.

I felt sad for the animals first and then the people.

And what you posted right after.

Just post it has a 98 critic and 93 audience score on rotten tomatoes.

I've seen stuff with scores like that which I thought were overrated but I'd watch them again knowing that usually that means something is going to be good.

No. I stay off the strip. Just another WTF moment for me. That Jeff guy did seem familiar to me. Maybe I'd seen him on the news before and just can't recall.

You like Nascar? I knew there was something wrong with you the moment you fell off the turnip truck.

I don’t see the problem here, I like Joe Exotic and Wrestling. Trump, pardon my boy! Joe needs to be the host of Wrestlemania 37!

Watching this show is like 6 hours of seeing Dale Earnhardt die in what seemed like a minor accident. I was at Greg Biffles bar playing pool with my wife and all the Nascar fans were screaming WTF???????

For almost anything else, I'd agree with you.

    This is that rare one.

I don't understand how it's hypocrisy if the argument isn't about real and fake.

And for the record, I loved wrestling (Attitude Era). The new stuff is awful, but back then that was the best TV going IMO.

I grew out of big time wrestling when I was 12. I remember watching Shag Thomas and Jessie Ventura but that was, according to my niece, before electricity.
