<div class="quote_poster">Quoting BigBalleR8:</div><div class="quote_post">Lmao kobe didnt see double teams in the lakers championship run?? Kobe got double teamed most of the times he caught the ball. And if shaq had kobe y isnt Shaq doing anything in Miami? Y didnt he win a championship with the orlando magics? And he came to La and won with kobe.</div> Maybe because Shaq was in his prime when he won those titles. Shaq has done things in Miami...getting to the eastern conference finals last year.
At one time it was blasphemy to consider Jordan better than Julius Erving, right now it's just far too, early to make the comparisons. Kobe Bryant was great this season, what's scary is the fact he's going to be even better next season because his teammates have finally come around. If the team continues to develop and never get satisfied, then I can see the Lakers easily hitting the 50 win mark next season and challenge for the 4th or 5th seed in the West.
Other than perimeter shooting (outside of maybe 20 feet), in what facet of the game is Kobe better than Jordan was in his prime?
^None Kobe is a great player but he isn't as good as a scorer as Mike was. Or Wilt for a matter of fact. I think Kobe is one of the greatest but better than Mike.....no
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting durvasa:</div><div class="quote_post">Other than perimeter shooting (outside of maybe 20 feet), in what facet of the game is Kobe better than Jordan was in his prime?</div> Mark Jackson's claim was Kobe is the better shooter and has better dribbling skills. I think Kobe still has 6 or 7 more dominant seasons left in him and maybe 10 overall. So it's far too, early to evaluate where he'll be after his career is over. He has 16866 career points now, which puts him in the top 70 of All Time. He's the youngest player ever to reach the 16,000 point total passing up Michael Jordan in the record book. In the next 6 or 7 years, he could possibly win 3 or 4 MVPs if he keeps up this level of play and wins more. I could see Kobe going after Kareem's All Time Career point total depending on his health and how close he is.

Its amazing the things he did with both teams when he stepped in. He made them that much better. Im a michael jordan fan but i aint bias. I see Kobe being as good as Jordan, but not as good yet. The Defense, improving for Kobe, is the one thing that is stopping him. If he can become a better defender, no stopping him. He will go down as one of the greats, along side Jordan, but never better. To be on the same level as Jordan is a feet in itself. If Lebron can continue improving he will join them i think. He has the potential, and hardwork to go with it. He is the only one who has a chance at doing what Kobe is doing at the moment. But atm. Kobe is King
I think Kobe should be more vocal to his teammates in order for him to be as good as MJ,he will never be better than MJ,no way... Nut I remember Jordan always pushing his teammates and the team responded...and MJ had a lot more mental skills then Kobe...
Kobe's not on track to be better than a few of the players playing with him right now let alone Jordan
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AIRTIGHT:</div><div class="quote_post">Kobe's not on track to be better than a few of the players playing with him right now let alone Jordan</div> what the hell? you really are a kobe hater arent you. why bring up a thread a month old only to bash him?

Why would you consider that statement bashing Kobe when I said he wasnt on track to be better than a few of the players in the leauge now... let alone Jordan. ? How am I bashing him, esp. when thats the obvious truth.
it seems to me that you search for threads to bring up and say something negative about kobe. i mean, nobody posted in this thread for more than a month, and you bring it up to say that mj isnt better than kobe? what is your problem. we already had a whole thread debating about kobe and mj, and you clearly stated your opinion. are you trying to make another thread about kobe and mj since the other one was locked up?
