We should bring in Anthony Cumia after his podcasting career goes down the shitter. He'll be very popular with the Portland demographics.

Either that or bring in the Beav Payton and draft his son.

It would be so perfect if the local announcers were national names that had no connection with PDX..... like a syndicated radio disc jockey whose show is pumped in by satellite. HCP could get us some recordings of them fucking up like Stern did Casey Kasem.

"Did you know Henry Weinhard once tried pumping beer into the Skidmore Fountain?"

    (muffled static)

"WHO wrote this SH-T! You want me to read this on AIR...... My ASS! I'll write my own g-d damn material. Skidmore Fountain.... Skidmark Fountain more like it! Appeal to what?! I don't even live here!"

I think it's Calabro.... but if we're going to poach someone from TNT, I would LOVE to get CWebb.

It's going to be a 3 man booth of Calabro, Squatch and Sarah Palin. Blazers are going for the Washington and Alaska markets!

Don't ask me to explain myself or why I think this would happen because I couldn't give you an answer but I think it will be Kevin Calabro and Martell Webster.

Call me crazy if you must but that's what I think.

That's actually the most realistic option so far. Spend some money for Calabro and get Webster at a cheaper option than say Steve Smith.

I hadn't thought of Webster, but he'd be a MUCH better option than Roy. I couldn't listen to Roy's voice.

I also think Channing Frye would be awesome... but he might play a few more years.

I wasn't really thinking about how much money it would save getting Webster. More about you would have a nationally recognized broadcaster in Calabro calling the games showing the 'young up start' Webster the ropes in radio and keeping that Blazer connection intact with the fans.

Wait.... Did I just explain myself after all?

If Roy does anything in basketball it will be as a coach, where as with Webster it will be in radio and perhaps somewhere down the road tv as well

What has Webster been doing lately? Is he still playing for the Wizards?

I thought he retired last season? That's what made me think of him as an option.

    Crap. Just did it again.

I didn't think you did--I just don't see us spending the big bucks to both guys.

I didn't say that as a dig on you. It is just how I tried to explain my thinking at the time.

    We good?
