Nope, as far as I am concerned, if we can trade him in a package to get better, do it.

I think it's interesting that some would trade Dame and keep CJ....sort of the idea with this thread..see who the keepers are from different perspectives

fair enough....you're the first to sell high on the franchise team captain....I'd trade CJ before Dame but that's just my opinion

Yeah, I get that to a degree. I think that CJ fits into more styles of play than Dame. The worst thing that happened to Lillard was to hit "The Shot" and have the mantel of the franchise placed upon his shoulders. I believe that atthis point, he has to be "The guy" and limits his game to achieve that.

To me Dame is the better defender, passer and finisher than CJ.....without Dame the pick and roll with Nurk disappears...so does the give and go....Dame has made serious progress on defense and dimes since the shot.....

That is a given...yet you are only comparing him to what is on our roster..jeesh, I would love to see some serious "Stockton to Malone" style of play...have to think that Dame is not the only guy in the NBA that can pass inside once in a while....

CJ though is not one of those guys.....he gave Nurk the ball at the 3 pt line the other night and didn't make a decent bounce pass to him in the paint...Shabazz came back in and got Nurk going...CJ just will shoot a bad shot almost every possession with guys wide open...he can't help himself...too much Kobe in his game....

I’m more about how we get another impact player to add to the roster than I am worrying about which players to keep or jettison. As I see it, a big 3 of Dame, CJ, and Nurkic isn’t BIG enough to compete for a title. If Olshey can figure out a way to keep those 3 guys and add a 4th impact player, that would be my preferred scenario. If he has to trade one of them, then he’d damned sure better be able to bring in another star player that elevates the big 3 into a contender. Swapping guys in a lateral move is of no interest to me.

Yeah..I dont see CJ as a point...off guard and small three is ok...but, heck, I am not married to any of the guys. I just think CJ is worth a lot less right now than if he was in a better system later on..just a thought

We're a 500 ball club....worrying isn't the issue here but rather keepers being players you're invested in and would like to see back....seems you've hinted at the big 3 being those guys...if I want to keep a player on the team it's probably because I think they are not a problem or weakness going forward....so far my list of guys to move is smaller than my keeper list but still is probably a third of the roster

Look to move any combo of whats left to make the team more competitive.

Side note - CJ and some others on good contracts would be difficult to move, but may be necessary to get something back.

I think CJ is the easiest player other than Dame to move on the team...Turner and Leonard are the hardest to shop

meh, they dont hurt you at 14th or 15th on the bench, but at 6 through nine.....just shouts out how bad the roster is

I see the team's biggest assets as those three guys plus Collins. I'd be happy keeping that core if Collins can develop into that 4th impact player or Olshey is able to make a trade for that guy. Barring that, I'd be okay with moving any of them for the right return. Dame would be the last guy I would entertain trading, however. I agree with you regarding CJ. I just don't think he's ever going to be enough of a facilitator to see him as being a replacement at the PG position for Dame.

I’d like to keep Dame. I’d trade anything else for Bagley.

    Dame
    CJ
    Nurk
    Collins
    Biggie
    Maybe Vonleh

    Pat can stay or go.
Bazz and Ed can stay for $5M or less.
Harkless can stay if he decides to play like he did last season.
    Everyone else can get rekt.
