    And all I could think was, "Yet another area where Freeland is light years ahead of Leonard".

    If MyLe had spent his summer the same way Freeland did, I'd be feeling really good about our center prospects for the future. As it stands, we're just crossing our fingers.

    I'm really glad it seems like Joel has earned a rotation spot. I had high hopes for him his rookie season but the whole year he just looked like the NBA game was to fast for him. I was hoping it would click a little better for him his second year. I am also hoping the same thing happens with Leonard lol

    How about.....Sabas! If Leonard really is a good shooter/passer, who better to refine his game and teach him defense than [one of] the greatest shooting/passing Cs to ever play the game?
    And really, it shouldn't be that difficult to get Leonard to the point where his defense is passable. Freeland learned it in a summer. And basically it came down to one thing - jumping straight up and keeping your arms vertical.

    I'm a little late on the response, but if Leonard is physically too tired to practice and lift anymore, there is ALWAYS tape to watch. His own tape and ENDLESS amount of tape of better players than himself and the tape of his competition he will be guarding.

    Yeah but when Leonard answered the question about what he was working on this summer, he only answered shooting. This implied that it was his #1 priority.

    Now you guys say, he must have meant that he practiced shooting in his spare time after he learned his daily gruesome defense.

    Meyers must have dedicated many hours to the rare art of being exactly in the wrong place defensively and blocking in while rebounding.

    He could do these things so consistently without intense practice to hone his natural instincts.
