It would be doing him a favor. He can go play baseball while he is still young and leave an NBA roster spot open for a guy with a real chance. Win win.
Honestly guys, Pat should probably stick with organized basketball. Making adjustments at A level baseball for college players is difficult enough. For someone who's 23 to go on to be anything more than a situational reliever.... it's almost impossible. If he was a position player it would be a different story. But you can't just take off time from the instructional process that can take up to 5 years or longer. If you don't believe me.... just follow Tim Tebow who's currently making a joke of the game in the Arizona Fall League. Pat has an athletic future it's just not in the NBA or MLB.
Not at all lately has he? I noticed Montero stopped playing completely a few games ago, so I don't expect Quarterman to be kept.
Well. Sandy Koufax was a Cincinnati Bearcats basketball player who put it together after years of frustration. But he was..... special.
Thanks for the replies! It really got me looking at the payroll and luxury tax stuff. Pretty interesting....
Matt bush was in prison, came back, switched positions and now is in the big leagues. Connaughton is a pitcher with a fastball. He'd be in the majors sooner rather than later.
I am still sticking to what I said 10 days ago. If Ezeli is close to coming back Stiemsma will be cut, Montero has already been cut, and Quarterman has not played.......so I assume he will also be cut.
The 15th spot is between Stiemsma, Quarterman and Jerrett. Who will get it? Does anyone really care? I'd say Jerrett because at least he's shown he can hit an open jump shot.
More I think about it the more confident I get that it'll be Jerrett. Still relatively young. He was a big time talent coming out of high school. Great shooter. Those guys will always have value, especially in Stotts' system. Gives the team another stretch 4, and has the size to eventually bang down low defensively.
Might think about taking one of Boston's cuts instead: http://www.espn.com/blog/boston/cel...ged-in-the-race-for-celtics-final-roster-spot
