Re: Who's the MVP?? But I think they can get into the playoffs. I don't even know if you could get in the playoffs without Dirk either. That is a big hole at the power forward position without Dirk. I supposed they make but not by a lot. If you take Lebron off the Cavaliers how well would they do?
Re: Who's the MVP?? 20 win team, tops. That is assuming you mean this season,a s Hughes was out. They had no other scorer, and no one to run offense and setup Z.
Re: Who's the MVP?? Not 1 player can run it as well as Nash but a lot of times the trio of Barbosa, House and Diaw do it together better than Nash. And D'Antoni's offense is so easy for anyone. Any of those 3 can be the point guard. The Suns without Nash, replacing him with a decent player, would be the 6th seed and make it to the 2nd round.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BCB @ Apr 16 2006, 09:18 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>This is such a tired argument. I'm so tired of this.
Re: Who's the MVP?? Take Dirk off Mavs win 42-45 games Take Nash off the Suns win 40-44 gamesTake Kobe off the Lakers win 20-25 gamesTake L. James off the Cavs win 20-25 gamesTake Wade off the Heat win 42-45 gamesTake Billups off the Pistons win 45-50 games. So based on who's record would suffer the most it is Lebron James. If Mcgrady was healthy it would be interesting on how many more wins the Rockets would get as well.
Re: Who's the MVP?? Didn't they just say that's a tired old arguement. You can't make assumptions on how good a team would or wouldn't based on losing a player.I mean realistically, if you take off those players, than they would be replaced by somebody. I mean if the Cavs didn't have Lebron, than they'd have somone else, same with Nash and the Suns, and the rest. It's a stupid arguement.

Barbosa doesn't demand double teams like Nash, so other players don't ge topen looks. he can't run the break nearly as well as Nash, so no open looks there.Mavsfan- Heat would be a 30-35 win team without Wade. he has carried that team this year.

A lineup of Shaq, Haslem, Walker, Posey, and Jason Williams has enough talent to win 42-45 games. The game would go more inside out.

Re: Who's the MVP?? I can't wait till they announce the MVP, then everyone can shut up about whose MVP.
Re: Who's the MVP?? The 2006 MVP is....A TIE! Dirk Nowitzki, Steve Nash, Lebron James and Kobe Bryant will all share it. Mavs Fans: Yes! Dirk wins. Everyone knows he was the most deserving.Me: Well Nash won but why couldn't they just pick one? NASH DOES NOT deserve it!KMart: Yes he does, he's the only reason the Suns don't have the #1 pick right now.Me: That's not true (long confusing explanation of why he is not)Mavsfan1000: ArizonaFan is right, Nash didn't deserve it, Nowitzki did. He had such a great season.Lakers Fans: Kobe, oh yeah baby, he's so hot, we looove him. Oh yesss....
Re: Who's the MVP?? Kobe is more valuable to the lakers than Dirk is to the Mavs but the Lakers aren't near as good as the Mavs so how much does the record mean to being MVP?
Re: Who's the MVP?? <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (ArizonaFan @ Apr 17 2006, 07:49 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I've seen them play much, much better also. And i've also seen them lose lately...without 3 starters.</div>I've watched Suns all year, not every single game, but many of the games (LP). They aren't the same team without Nash on the court, and a whole season without Nash would cause them to have to run a different offense, as barbosa isn't as talented or feared as Nash, so no double teams would occur. That would leave no one open for easy 3 pointers like they get with Nash.Bottom line Suns, Cavs and lakers wouldn't be nearly as good without their respective MVP's. IMO the MVP of the league is between Kobe and Bron.
Re: Who's the MVP?? The Suns would be close. The Suns still get many open shots because of that offense. Diaw, Barbosa and House pass well and the team is so unselfish they find the open man. Barbosa creates open shots because he is so fast and can drive to the basket easily and finds the open man because 1 person can't guard him. There have been so many games were the Suns were much better without Nash(ask Mavsfan, he saw one of the many games that they played better without Nash ), but of course that can't happen every game. Nash is not as valuable as people make him out to be though. He is a good leader though and am happy to have him but the team can survive better than most teams without their best player. Losing Nash wouldn't hurt NEARLY as much as it would hurt the Lakers or Cavs to lose their best player. Nash has a lot of good players around him. They would not need to run another offense because that team is built for running and the offense is pretty simple it makes anyone look good.I think this is the 5th or 6th thread I have gotten into this argument. It's not fun. Hey, I do hope Nash wins though. And Diaw wins most improved, Barbosa wins 6th man, Colangelo wins Exec. D'Antoni wins coach...and.....w/e else award there is goes to us.
