If anyone thinks bad politicians don't get elected, well........whoosh....Richard Nixon and Donald Trump say hello! What a dumb defense of the Republican idiocrasy The Republican party no longer represents tolerance, freedom or equality...which are the foundations of a great America.

Make him out to be? Most of the thread is pointing out stuff he is actively doing or has done. All of which you tend to ignore. Nobody's making him out to be anything, he's showing who he is.

"DeSantis and his administration did offer up a new viewpoint on Monday by saying the majority of migrants who wound up flying to Massachusetts were “homeless” and “hungry” and living in parking lots in San Antonio. They were fed and put up in accommodations for one to two days before they were transported out of state, administration officials said. DeSantis asserted that some of the allegations that migrants were misled was “nonsense” and added this: “Why wouldn’t they want to go, given where they were?” he said. “They were in really, really bad shape.”

DeSantis, however, while continuing to pound the Biden administration over the surge of migrants at the southern border made it clear that he thinks Republicans should use immigration in the midterm elections. “I think what we have been able to do is show the border is a disaster,” DeSantis said. He said the GOP should campaign on immigration along with crime and inflation. “This is one where Republicans have the advantage,” he said."

The southern border situation is still in crisis and, as far as I know, the current administration is doing little to nothing to correct it. DeSantis is simply bringing the issue to the forefront. Hopefully, some will listen.

You cannot believe a single word the guy says. He is not a republican. He is a fascist. Fascists lie about everything. All the time.

Sending them - all 50 of them - to Martha's Vineyard was wrong? Here's their sign:

Hard to tell if you being disingenuous. Or just stupid. Whether Martha's Vineyard welcomed the migrants or not, what DumbSantis did is illegal and immoral. And just plain wrong. There are NO moral equivalencies. DeSantis is a purely political opportunist who has no morality whatsoever. Or Christian values. The actual Christians are up in Martha's Vineyard. Here's hoping Ian washes Florida off the map.......

Maybe DeSantis should focus on his own border. Coming from Cuba, there's a very dangerous immigrant crossing into Florida right now, and he's done literally nothing to stop it from happening.

I guess. If you say so.

“Back in April, Governor DeSantis said he would send illegal immigrants dumped in Florida to states like Delaware. The crisis at our border is something affecting the entire nation, including the Sunshine State," she (Florida Lt. Gov. Jeanette Nuñez) said in the statement. "And although states do not have jurisdiction over immigration, we do have jurisdiction over the well-being of our residents. Entering the country illegally and fleeing a dictatorship to seek asylum are two different things, and misrepresenting that is offensive."

The sending of migrants to other states follows similar actions in recent months by the governors of Texas and Arizona who have filled charter buses with migrants who have arrived in their states and sent them to New York and Washington, D.C.

When did he say he was going to ship migrants from Texas to other states and how does it protect Florida and benefit the people of Florida to send people from Texas to Martha's Vineyard?

DeSantis had to get migrants (legal refugees BTW) from Texas to fly them around the country.

There needs to be a better system at the border. No one will disagree on that. But, the migrants being homeless and hungry doesn't absolve DeSantis from using them as political pawns in a terrible attempt to own the libs, which blew up in his face.

DeSantis has claimed redirecting migrants "at the source" to sanctuary jurisdictions, "the chance to end up in Florida is much less."

DeSantis is new god emperor. Everything he does is righteous, or good politics, or not his fault.

When you classify someone as other, anything done to them is justifiable. When you classify someone as superior being, anything theu do is justifiable.
If DeSantis shot someone on Fifth avenue would ABM defend it?

There were enough to elect Trump, who was guaranteed to be a shit show at the very least.

Now those who lost faith in Trump are looking for the next dirt bag.

There is enough voter suppression that DeSantis couls win. As much as I hate to say it.

Bark all you'd like, call it a stunt....I don't really care. There really are some more pressing needs on our southern border, and I believe DeSantis is forcing some issues. While political affiliation had much to do in this recent poll, one can't truly deny that there are serious issues at our borders. Can they?

    https://www.ipsos.com/en-us/news-polls/npr-immigration-perceptions-august-2022

Washington, DC, August 18, 2022 – Over half of American adults believe it is either completely or somewhat true that the U.S. is experiencing an invasion at the southern border, according to a new NPR/Ipsos poll. Moreover, half believe there is at least some truth to the view that migrants bringing fentanyl and other illegal drugs over the southern border are responsible for the increases of overdoses in the U.S. These statements, and others like them that were tested in this survey, shed light on how misleading information or politically charged rhetoric about immigration has taken root among a significant portion of the American public. Overall, perceptions about immigrants and immigration policy depend heavily not only on one’s party affiliation, but also their media consumption habits.....
