Oceans boiling, outbreak of malaria, insurers fleeing, teachers leaving, highest inflation in the country. But have no fear. DeSantis to the rescue! He is launching a campaign against Bud Lite

I personally think moving south to a subtropical peninsula is not the smartest move during global warming. People forget how quickly real estate can depreciate.

Bingo. Biden has doubled down on Trump's economic policies. Same as Obama did for Bush's.

These people are all mostly interested in helping the wealthy extract an ever growing slice of the economy.

Nobody who actually supports policy that is in the best interest of the middle class can get support from the DNC or RNC.

Trump was able to fool the ignorant masses into thinking he did, so he took over the RNC in the primary process.

Unfortunately the DNC has a much more corrupt primary process and are able to effectively tilt the scales toward their preferred candidate seemingly at will.

So we'll get pretend Dems vs lunatic Republicans for a while...

After the outcry over Florida now requiring schools teach the benefits of slavery - that slaves were taught skills - the DeSantis Department of Uneducation doubled down by listing a dozen or so 19th century African Americans who were skilled craftsmen or businessmen. Yes, men.

    They didn't do their homework.

About half of those listed were not enslaved but were freemen. The rest were escaped or liberated slaves who learned skills and established business after emancipation.

They want students to be ignorant.

When "wokeness" is considered a stain on society but the "KKK"is considered free to teach and preach hatred, you gotta admit you're in the wrong state.

Florida schools are told to use videos from Prager University, which is not a university. It is a far right propaganda organization whose contributors include Ben Shapiro, Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens. Among other tidbits they teach the US was founded as a Christian nation, that fossil fuels are reliable, unlike renewables, and global warming a hoax, that Columbus and slavery were benign while indigenous people violent, and that only cis gender heterosexuality is acceptable. Also praise Robert E Lee for violently putting down a slave rebellion.

You want to make America Florida?

We like going to the Riverquarium. We changed our mind today though and are actually headed to Gainesville.

    Gainesville, Ga, or Gainesville Fl?

The Riverquarium is nice but the way the city/county handled it pissed a lot of folks off...it was originally touted to supposedly bring tourism to Albany and cost a ton of tax payers money to build it but when it opened, initially, the supposed admission fee was the same for residents as it was for the out-of-towners. I believe that after awhile the city/county finally agreed to give residents a discount.

Oh goody! Leprosy, yes, leprosy, making a comeback in Florida. It is actually easily treatable with antibiotics in early stages. But with public health department unstaffed and sky high rates of people without health insurance ... Welcome to the 12th century.
