I agree, let's make it simple...

    Spurs: [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

    Patriots: [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

    Math.

Trying to make the 'BUTT F00TBALL IZ HARDR' argument is just scrambling for excuses and ways to defy simple facts.

Football is a game of inches, games can change on smaller things then in basketball. Also, because of the less amounts of games, those are magnified. Also, in the NBA Playoffs, a team can play up to 28 games. While in football a team can play max 4, and 16 during the year. Also the Super Bowl is played on the biggest sports stage(North American at least) and is a 1 game free for all. Basketball is split into a 7 game series so if you are nervous or have a bad game, you can shrug it off and play better in game 2, in the NFL, your done if you have a bad game. I don't think it is hard to ignore how difficult it is to win a Super Bowl. If the Pats and Giants played a 7 game series like the Celtics and Lakers did, what would the results be.
This also brings into account why I am a big college ball fan then an NBA fan. NBA is a game of isolation. Like Thrilla said, one person can dominate, ala score 81 points in one game. I consider the Patriots the team of the decade.

In football yeah they're a team of the decade, but when you have a franchise that has as many or more rings without stooping to the Pats' level, I say the Spurs or Lakers are just as impressive overall.

Spurs and Lakers had it pretty darn easy though. Remember the Lakers meeting New Jersey twice in a row? The Nets in my eyes were so weak that if the same team was to play this season, in the eastern conference they would be 5th to 8th seed. (pretty low)

Lakers met Nets in 2002, 76ers in 2001, Pacers in 2000
    Spurs met Nets in 2003

    The NFC sucks.

So what? They're from the Western conference which had the real Finals in the second/third round various times in the 2000s.

So basketball can't turn on small plays like fouls or turnovers (pretty little things), is what you're saying?

Meaningless. Every team in a particular matchup has played the same amount of games.

Thank you for confirming that the NFL playoffs are indeed one game series'. I did not know that.

More disregarding of facts in favor of 'but tis iz hardr then tat'.

Spurs = 4 rings, Patriots = 3 rings, Lakers = 3 rings (all consecutive).... Spurs = team of the decade. Observe my earlier post if anyone needs further simplicity.

No we don't, the NFC was the weaker conference in the NFL for a good portion of the 2000s. I think it is worthless and misleading to bring up.

It might only have been a single title, but that's officially the best championship ring ever created. Sorry for the digression.
