Agreed it was a great response. His humanity came through. Still not sure about springing it on someone like that.
The way Lebron handled that was great. To me knowing that Lebron has a personal relationship with Popovich, the news that his wife passed should have been told to him off camera instead of him learning of it in the middle of a post game interview.
Just last month Lebron was told by a Fox News Host to "shut up and dribble" over something he said. I think this only humanizes him and shows that he is a caring individual and as earned the right to talk about more than just basketball games.
I'm very sad for coach Pop. That's tough for anyone to deal with, at any time, let alone in his situation.
Must be tough to be interviewed about your feelings, especially when you don't have time enough to process. Durant (and probably others) was interviewed similarly (shown on ESPN web site).
So sad, she really was not all that old (by contemporary lifespan standards). Deepest sympathy to Popovich family and Spurs community.
