I think their's so much smoke that there must be fire but no one knows just how big that fire is. I am betting there is a nice offer from the Pelicans for CJ, I just can't imagine that it's as nice as that tweet. It would be cool if we got Hart, Hayes, Satoransky and a first round pick. I think we would likely send one min contract with CJ, hopefully Tony.

That being said if we do get a first rounder from NOLA in this trade, we might not want to wait until the last minute to pull the trigger on it because we might be able to get a useful player for that first rounder, our second this season and Bledsoe. That might be enough to get Grant... who knows.

Dame, Ant, Nas, Grant, Nurk, Hayes, Hart, our first rounder and a player we get with the MLE would be a great rotation for next season... even though I think the Dame/Ant back court will be dysfunctional.

This still leaves Nance as a trade chip, too. Everyone's seem to have forgotten him.

I haven't bothered to read up on Hayes, but couldn't he see jail time?

That NO package is all sizzle. Gotta dig deeper.

    Guessing Nurk would be moved.

The 2022 Lakers FRP is almost worthless to Portland. Right now they are in the Lottery, but outside the #1-10 range at #13. Sot he pick would go to Memphis. They are 1/2 behind the #8 Clippers in the Playoff standings. They will likely make that up, or in the Play-In, can't imagine the league wouldn't give them every call possible to get them into the Playoffs unless LeBron is hurt and out for the rest of the season.

The big IF....is if the Lakers were not to make the Playoffs, and were outside #1-10, but the pick jumped into the Top-3 in the Lottery. Portland would then get the pick. How sweet would that be. :onfire:

It's been reported that Hayes is most likely to get community service as his girlfriend didn't file any of the charges.

As I was saying, it's not happening. that 2022 lakers pick is going to Memphis, almost certainly. NO sent it to the Grizz in their swap of Adams/Valanciunas. Idiotic trade by NO-- let's not let the off the hook that easily.

Yes. For the firsts alone. Hayes is a nice young piece and Hart is a gritty role player.

There is only one first in that deal. There is a minute chance that the Lakers first would ever be conveyed. It's still not a bad deal though.

I’d rather have Quickley, Toppin, and Robinson.

Given his contract and his defensive ability, Norm Powell is a more desirable guard than CJ. You can plug Norm into any team and he'll find a role, while with CJ you have to build a team around him to compensate for his lack of length. Plus Norm is 2 years younger. Plus Norm was more efficient across the board with his scoring this year while only putting up 2 fewer points, and wasn't recovering from a collapsed lung. Plus Norm was playing out of position at SF.

If we could trade CJ for Norm straight up today, I'd do it in a heartbeat. (The most baffling thing about the Norm salary dump was that it wasn't a CJ salary dump instead.)

And look what we got for Norm.

I'll be shocked if we're able to get anything of value for CJ. Happily shocked, but also very shocked.

I wanted to make another attempt at Fantasy Trade Blazers Style so here we go:

    trade.jpg

I know you would have to trade Bledsoe by himself and the filler players from the Blazers could be mixed and matched, but just having some GM fun. Goodnight.

One big upside to acquiring Hayes is having Sofia Jamora at the games ....

Come to think of it, the way Hayes has been playing, she might be the only upside.

Is there any pressure for the Blazers to be making trades (any player/s) by the Feb 10 deadline?

They already achieved going under the tax.

Any reason they have to make trades now instead of waiting for the draft/summer?

Are opportunities better now due to other teams' desperation and willingness to overpay to make a play this season,
or will waiting for the summer give the blazers better opportunities.

    Sincerely curious.

WOW WHAT? YAS! Two first-round picks, Hart and Hayes and we turned that down? That's what I'm talking about!

After doing some research I have concluded you are correct.

Holy cow. So what does that leave us with...

    Dame/DSJ
    Satoransky/Keon
    Hart/Craig
    OG/Winslow
    Sabonis/Hayes

Plus pick and MLE. That's a mighty different team, that's for sure.

Jonas is better at everything. Scores better (50/40/80) , rebounds better, defends better, shoots threes better.

The idea is that right now teams want CJ so they can compete with him this season, in fact since both the Pelicans and Knicks are rumored to be interested we can have a bidding war and there's no guarantee that we would get that in the off season. There's also no reason to think that his value would get any higher. He does seem to be cramping Ant's style and hurting his game so that might be good for just how much we have to pay Ant this off season. Realistically though I think there should be some urgency to show the fans that the team cares about more than saving money. Whether that's bringing in better talent or getting picks for the future or some combination of the two, at least one big move might help the fans move on from what looked like a trade that showed no concern for how competitive the team is or will be in the future.
