Oh sheesh... all the complaining about this I assumed it didn't. So day1 there are probably way more subscribers seeing Blazer games now this year in PDX than last year, since DirecTV additionally has it. I guess its mostly just streaming app users (youtube Sling Hulu) that could see games last year but now cant. My understanding is these streamers are a very tiny minority of TV subscribers but they could be a very vocal group.
i tbink the key is people are looking to get rid of commiecast and the other two main cable companies and would prefer a viable streaming option. Its confusing no doubt, but like many have said, many people dont watch a ton of tv and dont want to pay the three big dogs the full monthly service for just a couple channels. Hence streaming options are desired. Root currently has very limited streaming options.
I lived in Alaska for 5 years (Juneau) and basketball was huge up there, especially for smaller communities. But then, unless you like dog-mushing, the only real spectator sport is inside, and that's basketball
that makes sense. I jsut didnt know juneau had buildings big enough for gyms. Lol. My soster lived there and i also spent a few weeks there partying after a season fishing trip. Partying… i shoild say frequenting that new big dance club out on the east sode of town. Lol I found Juneau to be very beautiful though with the nice roundabout circling the….drawing a blank on the name…. Never thought about indoor activities being a preference so basketball being popular because of that.
Because Comcast sucks ass. Their DVR has nothing on DirecTV and my family only watches recorded shows. We use it daily. It’s tied into our cell phones and internet and it’s $150 cheaper a month than what we would be paying for Comcast. Free HBO/HBOMax/AppleTV+
Not much, since Dish just dropped root. So now instead of Comcast and Dish you have Comcast and DirecTV, and fewer streaming options.
What’s really awful is Fubo doesn’t have TNT. So I have to keep YouTubeTV and get Fubo for Blazers games.
Carlos Boozer, Mario Chalmers and Trajan Langdon were all born and raised there. Also a couple years back Jefferson High had an Alaskan Indian kid who transferred there and then played college ball for Texas. He was a 5 star recruit but never amounted to much.
The Timbers probably on average have more cord cutters than Blazer fans and have been stuck with root from the start. Point is, root don't care, good luck streaming "legally".
