    Chris Haynes @ChrisBHaynes
#Blazers LaMarcus Aldridge says he doesn't think team needs to make a move at trade deadline. Says he believes Meyers Leonard will step up.

Hmmm, seems LMA is a little delusional on the Meyers matter, he needs a lot more time, hope he proves me wrong but we need help

Spencer Hawes or Omer Asik, Either one would help this team.

I think the biggest move at the deadline will be to get some guys assigned to the D league. Probably Claver and Crabbe

When's the deadline? It's Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday. Is it noon Pacific Time? That's what it used to be.

About 5 minutes before noon it was obvious Raef LaFrentz wasn't moving, so I started an ESPN thread called "Fire Pritchard!" at the height of Pritchard-mania. Then I argued in the thread for days with his zomby slaves, who got me banned.

If I am Houston there is no way in hell I trade Asik to Portland. (Or any western playoff team) Unless the player they are getting back is so good and needed, that it would be to hard to pass up. Do we have an extra player that fits that description? I don't think so.

If I am Philly, I would trade Hawes to Portland. (Or any team for that matter) This scenario seems to be our best bet.

Playing with the trade checker a little bit. 3 way deal. Blazers get Omer Asik and Jeff Tyler, Bobcats get Jeremy Lin, Derell Wright and Victor Claver Rockers get Ben Gorden and Meyers Leonard. http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=mtzn88x

It's going to take the untouchable C.J. McCollum.

LOL at it taking CJ to get Hawes. IMO he seems is likely one of the easiest bigs to try to attain for what I believe would be relatively cheap. Philly wants to move him and get something, they are in total tank mode and Hawes is very likely not in their plans next yr and he is a UFA. Most agree they will NOT even get a late 1st rdr for him, seems like Meyers or Trob would be very decent for them as those guys NEED MINUTES and have some ability and a decent shot to develop if given a chance.

Although I am a TRob fan, I would think about trading both him and Leonard for Hawes. Getting Robinson minutes will be an issue. If we can resign Hawes, having him along with LA, Robin, and Joel next year is a nice rotation. Plus you would still have Claver to guard the stretch 4's.

Although I would prefer to trade Wright instead of Robinson, as I think Wes will get more minutes at the 3 as CJ's minutes increase at the SG spot.

Get a tall back-up PG over the summer to play with CJ and the rotation is set.

I don't know what to make of this. This is a team that is beat. Or at least that is what I think it is. So if it's not fatigue and if you are going by LaMarcus's message here that "We don't need any help", what is it? Should I assume it's Complacency or just happy with what we got done this year? Ironically, he also told Chris Haynes that they wanted to be careful and not get complacent. This btw wouldn't surprise me.

The team is not what it was in the first 30 games.

How about we trade No for a competent player regardless of position. A player who is under contract that we can keep and not bite into our MLE this summer.

Hawes is having a career year, in a contract year. I have real reservations that his impact would make us much better overall.

Nor is the schedule, or the rest of the league. Nor will things be the same come playoff time.

Blazers are playing exceptional ball even at this point in the season, and I expect they will step up big time in the playoffs. Throughout Blazers history many a strong season was shitted away by a last minute trade for a vet who upset the chemistry. No need to recite the names here.

If LaMarcus wants Meyers in the mix and obviously trusts him to step up when needed, then that's settled. He knows Meyers, and the game of basketball, better than any of us here.
