I would love to have Wallace on the Lakers but that seems like a bit too good to be true situation. Any other specifics on that possible trade?

Just speculation. Other than the fact that Wallace is on the block, and Larry Brown loves Odom, there's not really anything going on. My guess is a deal for Wallace is possible, but unless we get another big in return, our front court looks kind of weak. Powell has looked good in limited minutes, but can we trust him as a main backup? Maybe if they throw in someone like Nazr.... Who knows. Definitely an option I would explore if I were Mitch though.

There's also talk of a Vladrad + Mihm package. Not sure what that can give us, just throwing it out there.

I know it is the clippers but Powell WAS a starter for them last year, also Wallace sometimes plays the 4 in charlotte right?

    What about Jose Calderon?

Would Toronto be willing to part with Calderon though? I still think the Wallace thing would be great.

Hell no to Jose Calderon. He can score and run the offense, but he is probably as worse defensively as Fisher and Farmar. I would take him for cheap, but he is not exactly the answer we are looking for.

What are we giving up for Jose? He's one of the premier passers in the league and better than anything we've got on our roster at the 1.

Well Calderon is definitely an upgrade over what we have, I'm not denying it. But he is all offense, no defense. We'd still get killed by opposing guards and our defense won't really improve at all. The way I see it, offense isn't the number one issue. It's not the biggest factor that held us down last year. We lost because of defense, the Lakers biggest weakness is defense, so although Calderon is definitely a better option than Fisher/Farmar, he just provides us another option offensively, but doesn't plug in any holes defensively. Of course if a reasonable trade is out there, go for it, but I don't think he's the answer to our problems. Or maybe I'm just over thinking it, I don't know. But I want a defender for a point guard, something we haven't had in.. how long?

Who the hell are we going to trade? we havent got any value that we dont need, that is what will lead to a trade, and we dont have any of those kinds of assets. also i cant think of any point guard available for trade that would improve our defensively. Also, we haven't even made it into the second half of the season, we will make the playoffs, obviously, and then phil will inject this team with a winning attitude like he always does and we will make it to the finals. When it comes down to the wire against a top playoff team, this team can always pull out on top, we have alot of weapons, good communication on the floor, good leadership and players who want to win, we know what it took to win last playoffs, and what it meant to lose in the finals, i beleive we are a stronger team this year than last and there is nothing to worry about.

Dont fix it if it aint broke.

Nothing wrong with your sentiment, I was just giving Jose some credit. :]
