you're not the only one. Even worse, there've been times when I've called the Grizzlies Vancouver. And I still refer to the "Thunder" as the Sonics, but that's on purpose.
yup. I know this isn't what the trade proposal gossip hounds want to read, but someone is going to really have to make a good offer to get KP to budge midseason. If so, it will probably be for Raef + a young prospect or two for someone making a boatload and we probably won't see it coming. STOMP
Or I wonder, since Raef is paid via insurance, if KP makes a deal for another big expiring contract and a draft pick . . . you know how KP loves those draft picks.
wtabhed hakim warrick kill houston. does everything outlaw + frye dont . rebounds, hustles, plays defense, etc. and he can score. outlaw is just the opposite. if hes not scoring, hes worthless. frye = same thing. WE NEED A BANGER
getting the quality return on a trade in the form of a future high pick is one way of alleviating some of the minutes crunch while keeping the shelves stocked into the future. It's not my preferred route but it's definitely an option worth considering STOMP
Especially with Hansbrough likely to be available in the late lottery. Better off waiting until Webster is fully recovered before even thinking about it though.
not only that, but Gay and Mayo have the worst +/- ratings on the Griz in their blow out of the Rockets tonight. Maybe their GM is a like us silly posters and wants to make a deal this very second... or maybe like most GMs he's a little more pragmatic? Time will tell STOMP
right, he'll need a few weeks of play to prove to the GMs of the league that he's not damaged goods STOMP
If Pritchard wants to get a draft pick from a team that just wants cash, it doesn't need to be that complicated. As Pritchard and Allen have shown, other teams are just as happy to accept checks as Rasheed Wallace.
When did the Gasol trade go through last year? IIRC it was 3 weeks before the deadline. I wouldn't say Wallace is the model of "staying the course".
Hansbrough will go in the 15-20 range. GM's have learned from other teams past mistakes and aren't going for the undersized PF who works too hard for his points. I doubt anyone will take a flier on Hansbrough in the lottery considering he's likely going to be a role player off the bench.
Ok, I'm confused. The blog says, "Raef’s contract needs to be off Portland’s payroll by their 41st game and on the acquiring team’s payroll by their 41st game." Then he doesn't explain why. I've never heard that Raef's contract 'needs' to come off the books a month before the trade deadline. Any capologists know what he's talking about?
To qualify for insurance payout, perhaps? The RLEC is covered by insurance, so whichever team owns that contract can collect the insurance on it. Perhaps that deadline was the latest an acquiring team can add him to their roster to qualify for that insurance reimbursement.
Josh McRoberts flashbacks anybody? (and yes, I was one of the fools who thought we got a steal with that guy)
Psycho-T is a hard-nosed player, Josh McRoberts owns shares in a butter manufacturing dairy. Not the same kind of player, at all.
Yes, but wouldn't this be a way of circumventing the 3 Million max allowed to buy a pick. By trading Raef for another expiring contract (say mid season), Blazer would have to pay an additional 6 mil or something like that for the other team's player and the other team pays nothing to Raef. . . that is twice the price for the draft pick. But just another wild thought . . . and I'm sure the brain trust has thought of all the options.
