Sometimes, ya just never know about those things (NDA's) https://www.cnbc.com/2020/06/26/mar...-files-suit-seeking-to-block-publication.html Mary is the daughter of Fred Trump Jr., the president’s older brother, who died when Mary was a teenager. Like the prior court filing in Queens County, Robert Trump argues in his suit that the book will violate that nondisclosure agreement that Mary signed in 2001 with him, Donald Trump and their sister, retired federal appeals Judge Maryanne Trump Barry, following a legal dispute over the will of the elder Trumps’ late father, Fred Trump Sr. Mary is “not allowed to write a book,” President Trump recently said. Robert’s suit says the confidentiality pact bars all people who signed the NDA from writing about their legal dispute over Fred Sr.’s will, or about “their relationship with each other.”
I deal with NDA's every day in my job. Lots of circumvention goes on in this big, bad world we live in.
Not certain if I missed your point. It appeared to me that you had attributed the NDA to Donald. When, in fact, the NDA had been generated by Robert Trump. Yes, Donald signed it, as well. But, so did a number of family members as it pertained to the will of Fred Trump Sr.
No, my point wasn't whether Donald Trump himself made her sign the NDA. My point was he both harped on the fact that there was an NDA while simultaneously claiming she knows nothing. If she knows nothing, why does the NDA even matter?
As I understand, at least part of the NDA pertained to the signers not talking about family matters. I'm not certain what's all in Mary's supposed tell-all book, but, apparently, there was enough for Robert Trump to file a lawsuit to have it blocked.
And the lawsuit failed. Therefore the NDA Trump was trying to hide behind is meritless in regards to the book. Trump is trying to discredit Mary now because he knows the things she has written are correct and will show the real him. Not, that most of us haven't as already seen the real Trump. Just verification.
I think they filed a lawsuit to have it blocked because they considered it embarrassing and the Trump family go-to strategy is to try to get their way by tying things up in lawsuits. That's how Donald Trump, after all, avoided paying lots of workmen what he owed them. I just found it funny that Donald Trump basically undercut his claim that she "knows nothing" in the same tweet.
Bet you would have cared if trump had won the lawsuit. The statement "I don't really care" pretty much sums up how most trumpers respond to facts that prove trump wrong. So much winning!
