Every salary cap site I looked at has next year as his last year with a team option. But he was also reported to have signed a 5 year extension, and next year will be year #4. Just wondering why the Nuggests would want to trade him since he's basically an expiring contract. It seems that the 1st round draft pick would be their only incentive rather than a "throw in"
I think Crabbe, T. Rob and the draft pick is what Denver wants. I don't think that's what Olshey wants though.
How is Jeff Green gonna cost a 1st round pick and an expiring but Wilson Chandler is going to cost a 1st round pick plus a prospect or two? I think Green is the better player. So much talk about Wilson but Arron Afflalo is the guy I'd want from Denver.
And who knows. Maybe that is who Olshey is after. Woj is still butt hurt that Portland won't give him shot to work with. Btw. T rob would be an expiring
There was no mention of any individual player involved from Portland's end. And Green/Wilson are very similar in terms of level of talent.
Portland can't absorb almost 7 million dollars without giving up something, so a player would HAVE to be included.
Remember she we could have dealt Rudy Fernandez for Wilson Chandler, but held out for more and then later just dumped Rudy?
Has olshey made any trades or moves mid season since he's been GM of Portland? He better not sit still again. I don't care what our record is, bench needs help
The first round pick is hard to swallow but his contract is team friendly at least and we wouldn't have to trade any major parts. T-Rob+Claver+1st rounder for Chandler is doable. Might have to get a third team involved though because Denver has more power forwards than they can deal with. We could then go try to sign O'Neal or whomever we like in the current free agent pool.
