I was told you normally look like that. By the way, here's my dentist: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bOtMizMQ6oM
only one way to find out.... they won't know me, i just tripped out when my friend told me his dentist was a blazers rookie of the year.
I asked him once if he still followed the team and he really doesn't very much. He may now, but with a huge practice... I think he just doesn't have the time.
I think some people have decent experiences and some bad. So, you may end up having a good-ish experience. My process was fine. It didn't really bother me much at all. The big difference maker is whether you go to a standard dentist or an oral surgeon. A dentist can't knock you out and also does not specialize in such. I went to an oral surgeon, where I watched them insert an IV, and then watched a clear liquid (valium) get pumped into my arm. And, the next thing I knew, I was at my house with my girldfriend cuddling me on the couch. Like a dream. The gave me a prescription for Oxy. So, we picked it up and drove up to Seattle where I stayed for a week. Had a blast walking around a strange new town on a strange new drug...hehe But, I did get a gun put in my face in Tacoma and almost got shot. That was the only downer of the trip. good luck.
When I had mine taken out they didn't even put me to sleep. They just numbed my mouth and yanked em out. It was disgustingly gross though when I was taking a painkiller, my mouth was still numb so I drank water to swallow the pills are ended up swallowing both the gauze pads that were in my mouth! Overall it wasn't too bad of an bad experience, besides the gross bleeding that you endure for a few days. I was very cautious with my gums so they healed pretty fast.
You're lucky I still have two wisdom teeth that are still below the gum line and haven't poked through on my lower jaw. And I'm now 34 and theres no way I am going to have the dentist dig into my jaw to pull them out. My brother had his jaw dug into to get his out and I won't ever do that. I know what he went through. I will wait until mine push into my other teeth when its a horrible discomfort. Every few years I get some pain like the teeth are pushing through put the pain only lasts for 3-5 days and then its gone again.
Do you have good insurance? If so here's the deal: Get them done one side at a time that way you can still eat afterwords. Plus you'll get twice the meds
All my wisdom teeth were still below my gum line when I got them pulled. All they do is slice open your gums and pull them out. It's not as bad as it sounds, trust me. Not that bad.
