Every player on a championship team deserves a ring. Darko is still an important player on the Pistons even If he is yet to make an impact on the court.

Saying someone doesn't deseve the championship is pretty judgemental. Like allnet said, you don't know what he does during practice. He's still young and he's learning. Who knows, maybe he supports the guys in the locker room as well.
Lucky guy. He's with a great team. I think Dumars did the right thing for the longterm, if he was used to his full extent straight away, the whole team aspect would be ruined. They did just fine without him, nor any other superstar.

Aside from whether or not he contributes in practice (which we don't really know), do you think the Pistons wouldn't be up 3-1 and about to win a champisonship had he not been on the team? I sure don't. In my opinion those guys didn't "earn" the ring, they're just getting it handed to them. This is not to say that he won't be a good player in the future or anything like that, it's just what contributions he's made to the Pistons this year is pretty much non-existant. I'd rather be LeBron or Carmelo leading their team to a championship (no matter how long it takes) then getting a ring handed to me and sitting the whole season.
Right, what you do in practice is a contribution to the championship You guys just can't swallow the fact that you don't deserve the best prize in professional sports if you haven't worked for it. It's like not getting a scholarship. You never earned it because you never worked for it. Too bad the ring is a team trophy, which speaks for the whole team and not certain players. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Eclipse:</div><div class="quote_post">Whether he is an "important" player on the Pistons is arguable. If you saw the celebration yesterday, Darko was in the background and barely cheering, he knows he didn't do much for the team. Plus, in the last 2 minutes, he didn't look all the excited about playing! IF it was me, just getting a few minutes in a chamionship game i would trying my best even though we were up 20, just to show Larry Brown he can use you next year.

He knew that they were the world champions, and they enjoyed the moment.
ok Darko may have a ring before all the other rookies, but darko did nothing to get it. he played like 3 minutes in the finals and got like 3 rebounds.

I get where he was comming from but the Palace would of been ripped down if Darko would of scored, remember the beginning of the season, every game was chanting for Darko. He was in the background the whole time, didn't look like he belonged to the team. If he wasn't 7 feet, I would of think he was a ball boy.
Looks like Darko Milicic aka The Human Victory Cigar got a NBA ring. Whether he deserved it or not, he got the hardest thing to accomplish as a professional basketball player. What he needs to do now is become the great player that he’s expected to be and gather up those All-Star selections, All-NBA First Teams, MVP’s (Doubt it, but it’s possible), and Defensive Player of the Year Awards etc… When his time is up, that championship ring will polish his career.
In order for Darko to do any of that, he needs to first get the playing time. Granted they will likely resign Sheed, he will probably not get much playing time again next year. But, here in a couple years, you never know.
