Yes, and I'll add Eason to the list. 1 or 2 of those would be great.

Personally I'd dismiss it with "he's never been on a team that was ever expected to be good." A roster like that deal would create would have high expectations, and I think people tend to shape up a bit when there's more on the line. And if I'm wrong about that, then it's only a one-year gamble.

I never did a deep dive on Daniels like I did with Murray/Eason/Ivey/Davis/Sochan et al. Starting it now.

He's certainly smooth and has a decent handle. I like his defensive instincts too. But his offensive game is very limited at the moment because of his broken jumpshot. His rise in this draft seems similar to that Giddey from last year.

Dame following Keegan - I hope there is something to this. We’ll definitely have to hop Indy and Detroit to land him though IMO.

Hopefully this Grant stuff will die down.

i do too. i was kinda shocked to see Dame suddenly following him.

Murray is such a boring candidate but he also has historical advanced stats. my hesitation with him was always his high usage at Iowa (and how Luka Garza had similar ridiculous numbers the year prior), but Murray's game and strengths make so much sense for this team.

If the Daniels hype train keeps chugging, I don't think that's true.

    I don't think he climbs to 4, 5 or 6 unfortunately.

My current mock if everyone retains their picks:

    1. Smith
    2. Holmgren
    3. Banchero
    4. Sharpe
    5. Ivey
    6. Murray

And just to add that it might not be Keegan who drops but it could be Sharpe who falls out of the top 6.

Do they want to move him? Grant and Randle are both "on the outs" with their current teams (to varying degrees), so they could be available at a lower price point.

Wood/Grant are nothing more than a continuation of the Neil Olshey model: mid-tier band-aids

I think Sharpe is dropping as of now.

    Jabari
    Chet
    Paolo
    Daniels
    Keegan
    Ivey

    or

    Jabari
    Chet
    Paolo
    Keegan
    Ivey
    Daniels

Could also see Ivey dropping in favor of Sharpe.
Don’t see Detroit drafting Daniels (they already have Daniels clone in Cade Cunningham).

We need a legit second star and I'm not really convinced that either of those guys are it.

The draft pick constitutes our best chance at adding a legit second star.

Somebody recently called him the new Trey Lyles. I really hope not if he's a Blazer.

Portland getting 7 was the highest odds for any pick.
Portland using the pick (no brainer) means getting Keegan Murray.

Dyson Daniels is showing well and being in the top 6 would not surprise me. Shaedon Sharpe is the athletic guy with hops and wingspan ... always in demand ... and with plenty of mystery to make him the "highest upside" guy and "attractive." [Look really smart drafting him at 4-6 if he hits. Take the wingspan of Norm Powell, give it to Josh Hart and add to Hart's 38.5" max vert.][The other athletic SG/SF ... Mathurin (6'6 in shoes, who is athletic and shoots 3's and less inside ... but you can't teach uber athletic.)

Ivey won't fall to 7. The "tiers" will have him too high for that. The only other player at 7 for the Blazers (IMHO at this point) is Dyson Daniels. At 6'7.5" in shoes, he's that big guard, near-mythical-point-forward-distributor-who-plays-D (nice to have with smaller guards who can shoot) ... in other words, qualifying as a forward for purposes of being a Portland draft candidate.

Honorable Mention: Jeremy Sochan (if trading down) ... likes to play team ball with motor and length and switchable and ... but Portland is rumored to want another Jerami. And it should be required that if they trade down and take Sochan, they must also draft Nikola Jovic ... a favorite of mine.
