ESPN right now saying Daniels is getting looks at 6, Portland likes him at 7, and NO is his floor at 8.

Poorly worded. Trading for a lower 1st round pick/player.

Gotcha. Don't see what gets us there besides Nas/Keon. Hopefully not the former....

no, @TBpup said #7 was not involved. I'd give them Keon or future seconds.

I'm not sold on Portland. Depends who else is available. NO at 8 I believe.

I was also someone who wanted us to pick him up with #20 or #26 in his draft. At this point, getting OG would also stunt Little’s growth. Little can become OG eventually—it’s not like OG is any more healthy than Little. He’s spent three years on the team and gotten better every year, getting Little back at cheaper than OG’s contract plus keeping #7 at a rookie deal will be muuuuch better than OG’s $30-35m/yr in a few years.

The dream would be to get both Sharpe (#7) and Sochan (like taking Hayward for #13 then trading up), but realistically, I’d be happy with staying put and grabbing Sharpe.

With all world athleticism and a silky smooth shot already, he’s the first real prospect that actually reminds me of Kobe or Jordan. Sharpe’s 45-48” probably rivals Jorand’s vertical, and he has a little longer wingspan than both guys.

He’s going to struggle defensively, but you have to find a way to find this guy 15mpg and let him develop. Shaedon should be encouraged to develop his playmaking and defense as soon as possible to get playing time. If he develops all the other parts of his game early because he knows he’ll be able to score whenever he wants eventually, he can be a more elite version of Devin Booker.

Portland is probably the best place for Sharpe to thrive. Coming in, he’ll have to play behind Hart, Nas, Grant, and probably another veteran forward.

Any guard that gets drafted to us should be forced by Chauncey to work on their playmaking. If our future backcourt is 6’4 Ant and 6’6 Sharpe—Ant will never be Steph, but Sharpe could become better than Klay. Sharpe will be strong enough to guard 3s eventually.

They’re trying to get rid of Thybulle for cap space, don’t think they’d want a player back.

I hope not. Daniels would not be my pick.

I don't mean to piss on anyones parade, but I am not sure the Blazers want two rookies. I'm sure they would if the price is right. This draft is not so deep you take on bad salaries for the 13, 15 or 23. Those bad contracts are only valuable if they have team options or less guaranteed money the final year, IMO.

You could be right about not wanting two more young players on the roster, but I would argue that this draft actually is deep. It is not top-heavy., but there seems to be a lot of good young talent in the first round.

Am I crazy for getting some Michael Carter Williams vibes from Daniels?

Hayward’s contract isn’t really that terrible of a contract, given that we would only have to hold onto it for one year. The year after, it is a $31m expiring contract.

It would depend on what you get for Hayward. If it cost Hart cause there’s no other way to make salaries match with Bledsoe + ___, then you don’t do it. But you found a way to take on Hayward and keep Hart—a forward rotation of Grant, Nas, Hayward, Hart, Sharpe is better than any forward rotation in the Dame era, and we’d have another lottery pick to draft someone.

Hayward will likely still be a guy that can get 20ppg on a given night. A team like LAL will take him with one year left on his deal. Or he will be a big enough salary to trade for a star if one becomes available.

    Dame/Ant/Nas/Grant/Nurk
    Ant/Hart/Hayward/Sochan/(Johnson MLE)
    Keon/Sharpe/Winslow/Watford/Brown III

I think this team competes next year.

Non shooting point guards taken in the lotto have not had a good showing in the last decade:

    MCW
    Killian Hayes
    Frank Ntilikina
    DSJ
    Kris Dunn
    Emmanuel Mudiay
    Dante Exum
    Elfrid Payton

All these players had questions about their shot and never figured it out.

The only two that had questionable shooting that have seemed to pan out are Ja Morant and LaMelo Ball.

And each year people talk themselves into those guys by saying, well, his shot needs work, but you can fix that! And more often than not...they don't.

If you can't shoot as a point guard.....you're not playing.

All this hype around Daniels has been a result of his supposed "improved" jumpshot.

Got a notification from Bleacher Report saying Blazers want to make a straight up deal for Thybulle, Sixers want Eric Gordon as part of the deal. Probably means that Bledsoe will have to be coming out. Does this mean we keep the pick most likely?

If so, please let this be true. Thybulle or Nas will likely be the day 1 starter I would assume.

We can absorb thybulle into a TPE.
