I have a modded XBOX with all the NES, SNES, Sega Genesis and Nintendo 64 games. It's pretty fun.

Risacher keeps climbing up the boards with these weekly performances in the playoffs

That's fine. There are plenty of prospects in his tier and higher that will be available to us at 7, and potentially 14.

He might go number one, but Atlanta doesn’t really need a small forward.

This shouldn’t stop us from drafting him if he is there.

Risacher will be gone, but I would Castle ahead of him despite the size. I would draft Buzelis ahead of Castle, but he seems like he will be gone before #7. Sarr will be gone. I would take the sure thing in Castle over gambling on Salaun at #7. Castle over Williams as well for me.

The Blazers do not have a starting point guard in place that has earned that job for years to come.
Scoot hasn't proven he's even good, let alone an NBA starter.

If Reed is there @ 7, you take him, but I doubt he will be. If they take him they will trade Simons. If Ware is there at 14, I would consider him.

If they go for Sheppard at #7, what are the next moves? Sheppard, Scoot and Malcolm all deserve/need big minutes at the point. I would hope to hell it wouldn't be to start Sheppard next to Scoot while moving Shady to SF.
My vote would be getting whatever they can for Malcolm. Draft Newton in the second round to play with Sheppard (or Scoot) to offset being undersized. It seems almost too obvious to have to write in a post, but they haven't done it up to this point with their backup PG.
People keep saying to trade 1 or 2 of the seconds, but this team needs to take as many swings at guys capable of contributing as possible.
If I had a dollar for every time I've mentioned Newton or Shead recently I would have several dollars.

I’m not really looking at PG sized guys—is Sheppard that good that you’d have to draft him ahead of Castle or Buzelis?

I really don’t like the idea of bringing in another guard. I think we should be in the process of moving some of the guards, not the opposite. I agree, we should just get what we can out of Brogdon. If Brogdon nets a future 1st, great. If not, I hope that attaching him will help us move up at any of our picks to secure who we want.

They trade Malcom, Simons, Grant, and Aquire assets. Let Reed come off the bench first year playing in back court with both, Shae & Scoot.
By using assets to round out 3/4 and adding next years pick, to line up you have filled out a young roster that represents possible climb to the playoffs or young trade assets to further engineer.

Why isn’t Houston a foregone conclusion? They could really use someone like him.

My fear if we take Sheppard is that he is going to look better than Scoot right away and either force Scoot to the bench OR play Shae at SF. I’m a big no on both. But I know how it is, Blazers fans will clamor to have Reed replace Scoot in the starting lineup.

If we drafted Reed to play backup guard, I guess I’m fine with it. But I wouldn’t like the fact that we’ve drafted three lotto guards the last three drafts.

He would be a good fit with the Rockets, for sure.
My view is that at 7 we take the best player available to add to our bank of assets and it seems now when we are talking about a complete youth movement would be the perfect time to do so. If Reed, Shae & Scoot all popped within a year or so that gives some trade equity if needed.

The question is if there is a BPA at #7. Is someone like Reed (or any guard or center) that much better than a position-of-need player? (IMO that is a forward) I don't know the answer to that. It needs to be obvious and I am not sure it is.

You’re like the guy who gets a 78 pinto and are continuously trying to get everybody to believe it will handle like a 2024 BMW M5. Why are you so invested in trying to convince everybody that we will land players who will make us better? Now if you have seen the talent level of this years draft….THAT is truly strange.

    But please continue.
