I really hate the fact that we don't what to do with Morrow. If he had a role to develop he could very well be an all star by now. Things like injuries, his medical condition and willingness to play relief have really sidetracked him.

We should of just taken Lincecum like I wanted us to do since he WAS the local kid.

If Mariners only gave up Aumont, Gillies, & Ramirez that is a great deal for Lee. Worst case scenario is that we get Cy Young type pitching for a year and get 2 1st Rounders next year if he leaves.

I remembered Alfonzo from the Giants few years back, nothing special. He is probably just insurance for a Rob Johnson that had quite a bit of surgery done this offseason. As for Bay and Chapman, I doubt there are any serious moves towards either of them.

We have too many starting pitchers at this point, I wouldn't mind trying to get a few prospects, maybe guys that Z himself scouted and drafted there.

....and what is it they want in return for morrow?

i know we can still get a get deal for him. I'm not sure if he's a bust, or a guy who's just had a string of bad luck at this point.

Mariners signed 19-year old SS Pedro Okuda to a minor league deal today, one of those international player signings. Apparently Z has been watching him since he was 15, so maybe this guy could end up in the bigs right around the end of Jack Wilson's career in 2-4 years if Trunfel does falter.

Get on your way Silva! :pokecrap:

Seriously, Silva & 6million for Bradley is genius considering how horrible Silva has been during his tenure in Seattle. Z has been absolutely the man. We also resigned Langerhans too.

Many Mariners' bloggers and beat writers believe the Mariners have about 10M left in cap. I wouldn't mind adding a guy like Carlos Delgado @ 1B. Also the Mike Lowell to Rangers deal was nixed due to a thumb surgery, I wouldn't mind trying to get him @ 1B.

I hope we bring back Bedard, it would be nice to get something out of that deal that sent all those players to the Orioles.

Rumor is that the Mariners will deal Brandon Morrow to the Jays for Brandon League (RHP) and a prospect.....I sure hope this isn't true.

After reading into the possible Morrow deal further, it sounds like Morrow's value at this point is about his potential as a starter, but his stock is going down. So this trade would be to get a hard throwing reliever that doesn't get as many walks, and projects to be better statistically, while getting a prospect. So in a way, I'm liking this deal more depending on the prospect (rumored to be a power hitting C that was #1 in their system).

Breakdown of League is that his fastball has sinking movement, at 95 MPH avg, and his groundball rate is 62%. He could end up being a great acquisition to the bullpen for whenever you get 6 innings from the starters, you throw out 3 straight hard throwers in League, Lowe, & Aardsma to shut the door. Joshua Fields is coming through the farm system eventually too (I hope). This trade will probably be wash in the long run.

The prospect is rumored to be either catcher Brian Jeroloman or OF Johermyn Chavez. I think it more than likely will be Chavez since Jeroloman has been going through injury difficulties and isn't much of a prospect at this point due to injuries and he can't hit.

Morrow for League/Chavez is the deal

Rumor has it that this is completing the Halladay/Cliff Lee deal.
