Pecherov, who was drafted by the Wizards in the first round last June but played for BC Kyiv of the Ukrainian Superleague last season, didn't have to wait long to slip into Wizards practice gear yesterday morning and go through shooting drills with forward Andray Blatche and director of player development Harvey Grant.

"It just feels great to be here," said the 7-foot, 234-pound Pecherov, who averaged 12 points and eight rebounds for BC Kyiv last season. "I'm going to be in here working out every day and hopefully I can help the Wizards win games this season."</div>
