Songaila, who signed a five-year, $23 million contract in July, has been out of action since the end of the summer's FIBA World Championships with a pinched nerve in his lower back.

Songaila, who was playing with the Lithuania national team, originally suffered the injury in a pre-tournament tune-up game against the U.S. team on Aug. 13. He continued to play despite the injury throughout the tournament and has been out of action since returning to the United States in early September.</div>

Wow, what a blow for this team. I figured he would be out for around 2-4 weeks since he was able to do some conditioning drills and claimed he was questionable.
