Magic's biggest blunder without a doubt was choosing Ball over Tatum. I think he might have been blinded by the fact he himself was so successful as a tall point guard. He also did not come into the league as a great shooter. But there was no excuse for not taking Tatum. He was clearly the better player and if I could see it then he should have been able to as well.

Even Fox would’ve been a better pick and that’s not hindsight talking either. I think Magic is in love with storylines. Remember his twitter feed? For a legend in the game, he sure comes off as pretty surface level in his understanding of it. He’s a good salesman, I’ll give him that. That would come handy in Portland.

Another funny thing is the report that Ball doesn't want to play for NOP. Who the fuck does he think he is, Kobe?! He isn't even a quarter of the way to being good enough to not want to play for [insert any team here].

And teams would be stupid to offer #1 or #3, and #2 apparently can't even be offered.

Lebron's role in all this is hilarious. He makes all the calls and decides he's gonna come to the team for reasons outside of basketball. Then he wants to trade half the team 3 months into his tenure.

I don't know how Silver can honestly say he's looking out for the good of the league and then act like the LA Lakers aren't involved in some heinous shit. It's absolutely backhanded, nefarious and goes against any kind of fair business practices. To collude to get a player to make trade demands is one thing but to purposely try and flatten the trade market for said player, just so that the Lakers get a better deal.... shows how far out of wack things have gotten.

Do you think Jimmy Butler wanted to be where he was? Yeah you keep thinking that. I can name a bunch more players that destroyed team chemistry being somewhere they didn’t want to be than you will ever be able to come up with that didn’t. Anthony Davis does not want to be in Portland and the statements are clear. Even discussing it seems pointless at best. But have at it. I do think some of the fallout type trades could be interesting.

Bill Simmons keeps joking around that Silver got tired of LA tampering with Paul George (they got fined for it even) and banned the two from even meeting in free agency.

I don't know how much of a joke it really is.

Except that Dame and AD are close and would actually be good together. Butler got mad because his teammates were lazy and they barely got the 8th seed with a loaded roster.

We'd be contenders to get to the WCF at the very least.

Ya if we landed AD, him leaving in FA a year later is not even a minimal concern for me. Injuries, his brittle body, and reckless style are far more worrisome. Even that ultimately is a minor risk compared to the ridiculously high potential reward

I doubt a bad team like the Hawks or Bulls would give up the #1 pick for Zion. That's a big risk waiting until the draft to hopefully convince that team to deal with you.

It's not for sure that the Celtics would give up Tatum, let alone Brown and other stuff too. What happens if Kyrie leaves too?

Philly might not be willing to trade Ben Simmons. It would accelerate their window to win.

It's interesting to see all the players sitting out their next game. Add Draymond Green to the list.

You must be crazy. People were on here preseason talking about how they were going to get minutes over Curry AND Stauskas.

No but his agent is already putting it out there that he won't re-sign with any team but the Lakers. What a crock!
