Lets see who the next gm is. He may want his own coach and new start by trading assets and start the job justification process again. Everyone tries to justify their existence in the work place.
I'd gladly pay Dame that money provided he used some of it as a down payment on the franchise from Jody....found some investors in the Snoop Dog circle he hangs in and get it done....I'd love to see Dame end his career as part owner of the franchise one day....go all in and let him lead. Dame Dolla knows people with deep pockets.
Doesn't that come down to what anyone else is willing to fork over for Simmons, though? I had a boss once who left a fulltime position unfilled, continuing to use a temp in it for months. The temp wanted the job and they continued to have the temp do it but wouldn't commit to the temp even after nine months. I finally asked them why they didn't just hire the temp. "We're not going to hire anyone," the CEO replied. "But you're not hiring anyone," I pointed out. We'd like to get the perfect candidate, but the perfect candidate isn't coming for this position, and we might be getting farther away from the absolute best candidate we can get by looking disloyal to someone whose job we've been so satisfied with that we haven't hired someone to fill the position unless they were "perfect." It's supply and demand. The Sixers can want the farm for Simmons, but if no one wants to sell the farm for him, are they OK with letting him sit out a prime year for Embiid where they could make a run at the NBA finals just because they can't get the perfect deal? Is the Sixer fanbase OK with it?
I was listening to Justin Termini and Eddie Johnson today. They were talking about this topic today on Sirius XM. Their opinion was dame really wants out of Portland and is being strategic about this. Saying that Dame is not the kind of guy to come out and request a trade but also knows he’s not getting a super max contract like this at this point in his career.
Backing Olshey is different from defending him against what I think was unfair criticism, you guys seem to forget all the times I railed against him. I thought Fez might be talking about me but it makes no sense because I've been anything but quiet.
I found this from his Clippers days: https://www.google.com/amp/s/syndic...e-fairytale-ending-for-clippers-fans.amp.html
It’s not about hating it. It’s about calling a spade a spade. Many of us have said for years CJ and Lillard combination just won’t work. Yet here we are on the cusp of not getting jack shit in return for CJ because now it obvious we’re desperate to.
So if you don’t hate everything Neil does, you’re a Neil backer? Wut? The guy did plenty good, plenty bad. It’s ok to acknowledge both without being labeled a backer or a hater. I don’t think there was anyone that had his back on everything...except for maybe Dwight Jaynes.
See I still think CJ is capable of being an average defender. Same with Dame. That'd be good enough to make it work. Shit-talk me all you want for that take. You can think they're completely incapable. I don't care.
Of course you do. You can’t tolerate free speech or freedom of opinion when you would literally drink the sweat from Lillard’s jock strap. You’ve been letting him wipe his balls across your forehead for several years, claiming he’s the epitome of selflessness and championship mentality. Now it comes out that Lillard demands half of our salary cap to stay in Portland, and you look like a total idiot. You’re a mediocre moderator with even less basketball skill and knowledge. Now everything is blowing up in your face and your only choice is to ban everyone acknowledging reality. lmao keep screaming at Portland’s management for not giving an overrated 35 year old almost 2x as much money than Michael Jordan in his prime. You’ll go down cupping Lillard’s nuts to the bitter end.
Aw poor little Dame is big mad because Woj aired out his dirty laundry. Lillard claimed his sole focus was bringing the blazers a championship. We now know that is a lie. His focus ever since he came to this team was trying to get a record breaking contract at the expense of any chance of winning a championship. He bitches about not having talent knowing full well he will not allow managment to pay his supporting cast a dime. Guy is a total fraud who ruined this season by trying to get CJ and Nurk traded after he ruined the offseason by talking about demanding a trade. And you fools wonder why CJ and Nurk aren’t playing passionately when their names are on the chopping block (and STILL are having better seasons than Lillard)
