There's none available so a legit stretch 4 is a good acquisition for the right price.

    We have a deep roster???

We're starting Evan Turner, playing Pat Connaughron (Who has been playing well but isn't a rotation piece on a contender).

It's funny how Dame and/or CJ is now the problem for the offense, not defense. Dame distributes well, and with a C that finishes well and more shooters, he'd get 7+ assists per game. Dame doesn't play with an ego at all.

This post isn't based on any fact.. Now we have great role players and it's on our stars?

Orlando isn't gonna trade Gordon to minimally upgrade Fournier.

Those moves are lateral and don't really accomplish anything IMO. If I'm gonna trade CJ I'm trading him for a draft pick. Or I'm gonna keep CJ while trying to upgrade SF.

Atlanta Hawks Receive: C Ed Davis, PF/C Meyers Leonard, 2018 first-round pick (top-16 protected), 2019 second-round pick (via Lakers or Timberwolves)

Portland Trail Blazers Receive: SG/SF Kent Bazemore, PF Luke Babbitt

Pretty much every team hoping to make a splash this season is chasing wings on the trade market, according to Wojnarowski. Among them: the Blazers, who are, somewhat quietly, occupying the Western Conference's No. 5 seed despite Damian Lillardmissing games with calf issues and generally lackluster offensive returns.

Finding switchable three-and-D talents on reasonable contracts is a difficult venture. Not only are they in high demand, but they're also in short supply, because teams that employ Trevor Arizas and Khris Middletons aren't looking to move them.

That leaves the Blazers, among many others, to surf the slightly overpriced market. And that, in turn, leads us to Kent Bazemore, one of the league's few "expendable" wings, per Wojnarowski.

Basketball Insiders' Steve Kyler reported in December the "right combination of ending contracts and a first-round pick, even one highly protected, might be enough" for the Atlanta Hawks to part with Bazemore. This deal should do the trick.

Taking on the remaining three years (including this one) and $31.8 million of Meyers Leonard's deal doesn't spell good times, but his commitment pales in comparison to the $54.3 million Bazemore is owed through 2019-20 (player option). Plus, at 25, Leonard's a better fit for their rebuilding timeline. There might also be something to Leonard-John Collins frontcourt pairings.

Ed Davis wouldn't have a future in Atlanta, but he comes off the books after this summer, so it doesn't matter. Adding another first-round choice to the cupboard would give the Hawks six, including their own, over the next two drafts.

Footing the bill for Bazemore while forking over a pick would sting the Blazers, but they're committed to winning now. He'd diversify their pedestrian offense as a secondary playmaker and spot-up marksman without compromising the defense, and his contract expires at the same time as Maurice Harkless and Evan Turner's deals.

Grabbing Luke Babbitt in the process would be an under-the-radar steal. He's drilling 43.2 percent of his three-point attempts and could hold up as a full-time small-ball 4.

Evan Turner started on a competitive Celtics team that dealt th Warriors one of their 9 losses two seasons ago. And I think Pat could absolutely be in the rotation on Spurs and Warriors. Is Nick Young better than Pat? But no, we're not deep. I agree with that.

lol Hawks would need to give up a pick to any team willing to take on Bazemore's contract, not the other way around.

Yeah, in a season that was an abboration for Turner. And the Warriors are trash right? So who cares that he beat them?

Nick Young is definitely better than Pat.

We only have one stretch 4 and he plays great defense and can play the 3.

Don't share this shit. What a stupid trade idea. Bazemore isn't going to fetch a 1st round pick.

I thought the goal was to get under the tax threshold. This deal would put us more than $5 million over the threshold this year and would guarantee we'd become repeat offenders in the very near future. Add in the penalties and Bazemore's $17 million contract would end up cost the team more than $50 million a year in salary and penalties.

Sure, if you can get a Paul George/Jimmy Butler type player you say luxury tax be damned, but Kent Bazemore? I don't think so.

Meyers isn't a 4 and doesn't count because he doesn't play, Vonleh isn't a stretch 4 at all, and Collins is much more than that. So we don't need more shooting...?

We need wing help in a desperate way

Meyers doesn't play because he's a sieve on defense. Is Myopic any better?

That ATL proposal is horrendous. Portland loses 2 good picks (a first from us, a second from a crap team), two young players for Bazemore and Babbitt? ATL would LOVE that deal

And severely undersized as a 6’5” SF... the last thing this team needs is to get smaller around the McLillard backcourt
