He's just not a winner either. He had 20 in a loss to Phoenix the other day.

That seems kinda unfair. Shabazz just had 21 in a loss to the Hawks on 12/30; are we calling him "not a winner" as well?

That's plenty fair. First off, Shabazz won a National title while being the best player on the team. Can't use that label on him ever.

With regard to Kent, I'm only mentioning this game but there are plenty more if you go down his game log:

Yeah--he's on a terrible team with a terrible roster. I'm sure there will be plenty of games in which he plays well in a loss. To saddle him with the "not a winner" label simply because his best teammates left assigns way more of the blame to him than he deserves, IMO. There's a lot more wrong with that squad than Bazemore.

OK, I'm sure you're right. A couple of years ago he had a reputation as a very good defender.

Perhaps, but you're leaving out the possibility that BGD's express purpose of his "trade ideas" is rudeness - which I find somewhat likely.

Well, in college he was the National Defensive Player of the Year in 2010. He also has a Drtg of 107.

He just doesn't pass the eye test with me.

Bazemore has a wingspan of 6’11 1/2. Hardly undersized.

Yeah I just hate writers that are paid to come up with trade scenarios that are absolutely horrible.

Mirotic? Yes. He's average to above average on that end. Right now we need scoring more than anything.

Aminu has a 7’2” wingspan so maybe we can start him at center

Probably because you’ve never seen him play. Bazemore has always been known for his defense going back to his college days. A better argument would be his contract.

We have scoring. I'm not sure we'r utilizing it correctly. Another stretch 4 won't solve that....IMO

If he was 20 pounds heavier, you probably could.

Actually that’d be fun to think about.

Do we though? We only have one non-guard that plays consistently and shoots the ball well (Aminu). We could definitely use another, especially if he's not hurting us on defense.

I agree with you that we need a good wing first, however there's not many available, so I think Mirotic is a good Plan B.

I disagree, but it's awezome to have an actual conversation about it.

I like Mirotic, but I just don't think he'd be an upgrade. Aminu, as you mentioned, is doing well at the 4. Collins shows flashes of helping too.

I would expect more Aminu ast SF to clear time for Mirotic. I'd actually like an Aminu/Mirotic/Nurk pairing. I think it's somewhat likely we trade Davis so Collins could take over that backup C spot with Mirotic, Aminu, and Vonleh playing the 4 with Aminu playing some 3.

It's also likely well need to slide Aminu to the 3 part time if we trade Bazz, unless we get another guard in return.

No. I've seen Bazemore play a good amount. I watch a lot of NBA. That plus how much I ref easily equals 500+ games per year that I watch or officiate.

I've been watching a lot of game replays of PHI, MIL, BOS, NYK, CLE. Of course I watch our games too.

Again, on the NBA level, he doesn't pass my eye test.

Bazemore is a good 3 point shooter. If he's a good defensive player, then that's exactly what I want - a 3 and D guy. I'm more interested in Bazemore than Mirotic: Nurk/Collins/Bazemore/CJ/Lillard is a very good defensive team.
