We have a butt-load of threads about players X, Y & Z but I see nothing that talks about individual workouts and comments/thoughts from them (either from y'all or from others). Is anyone following that closely and can post who is working out when and comments, etc. on those workouts? Asking for someone who feels too lazy to try and do all that research himself.
Blazers are not releasing info on workout participants until the morning of. As far as other teams, hoopshype keeps a good tracker: https://hoopshype.com/lists/2023-nba-draft-workout-tracker-where-have-prospects-gone/
lots of workouts but I counted only 6 for top-20 prospects and Portland had 2 of those. A lot will be happening over the next 3 weeks. Scoot & Miller haven't worked out yet
Sean Highkin on his podcast said both Miller and Henderson will be coming in to Portland for workouts
Where can I find the most pics or videos from the workouts? It seems like in hears past there was a lot more of each available online. TIA
This guy, Kobe Brown, might be interesting in 2nd round, strong, 250 lb., very energetic, high IQ . improved to 45% on threes in his senior year. concerns he might be tweener on defense, since he is only 6'8". https://www.si.com/nba/draft/prospe...wn#gid=ci02bae90370002412&pid=usatsi_20085761
Anothe PF who is projected to go in second round. deadly close to the basket, not so much elsewhere. 2 inches taller than Brown, "The defensive side of the ball is where he thrives. It’s the versatility that pops, as DaRon Holmes is a great rim protector but can also hold his own on the perimeter against quicker players. He’s disciplined on that end of the floor and has all of the tools to thrive at the next level." https://www.si.com/nba/draft/prospe...ii#gid=ci02b56ffaa00024c7&pid=usatsi_19491599
I'm just looking at PF's today. this guy also projected second round. The Dayton big Toumani Camara was the clear best prospect in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament in April. His ability to blow-by bigs, perimeter skill, and ambidextrous finishing made him a mismatch nightmare for opposing defenders. He’s an explosive finisher around the rim with the ability to stretch the floor. He defended well and had some nice passing flashes that we didn’t get to really see at Dayton. https://www.si.com/nba/draft/prospe...is ability to blow-by,to really see at Dayton.
I already root for him. Hope he lands in Portland and develops a nice relationship with Dame. He sure could help the team down the line. The timeline question is central. But if he is our guy, we should go all in to land him. Promise him that we pick and make him cancel his workout in Charlotte.
I don't see Cronin closing the door on trade possibilities. I mean what if the 6ers call about Embiid? But I love the idea of trying to force Scoot here.
I think you are right. But in the end I don't see #3 landing us a MVP caliber player like Embiid or Giannis. That's why forcing the hand on our prefered draftee could be a nice option. Especially if Scoot is also all in. There is less incentive for Charlotte to try and draft him. Maybe they can try a countermove with a swap #3 + 2 2nd rounders for #2.
